The 2024 Cannes Yachting Festival concluded on September 15 after an impressive six-day showcase, attracting over 55,000 visitors from 130 countries. The event, set against the stunning backdrop of the Bay of Cannes, featured more than 700 boats up to 45m, including motor yachts, sailing, and multihulls.
Split between the Vieux Port and Port Canto, the festival featured not just boats for sale, but also a wide range of equipment manufacturers and service providers exhibiting the latest in eco-friendly technology and marine design. Notably, the new marina in Port Canto showcased nearly 170 motor boats, catering to a growing market of hybrid and electric-powered yachts aimed at sustainability. These developments reflect the yachting industry’s shift toward reducing environmental impact, highlighted by the festival’s dedicated “Green Route” for eco-conscious exhibitors.
Industry experts also noted the increasing demand for mid-sized motor yachts, particularly from Italian shipyards, while French builders continue to dominate the sailing yacht segment. These trends are expected to shape the yachting market in the coming years.
With 360 boats at Vieux Port and 340 at Port Canto, the new setup ensured a better distribution of yachts for sale and improved visitor flow. Vieux Port hosted new boats from 10m to 45m, along with equipment manufacturers and service companies. Over 70 superyachts, over 24 meters, were moored along the Jetée and Superyachts Extension.
At Port Canto, a section of the marina displayed 45 pre-owned boats for sale or charter, offering visitors a unique chance to explore new yachts and brokerage listings.
A standout addition was the new Power Boat Marina, which doubled the size of Port Canto. This area, covering nearly 3,000 square meters and 450 meters of quay space, featured 175 motorboats and yacht tenders up to 13 meters, including both rigid and semi-rigid hulls.
