Damen Yachting has started construction on what it is calling “the only luxury explorer yacht available in her class”, its first SeaXplorer 60.
Construction is underway with the 60m (196.85ft) explorer yacht aiming for a 2024 delivery, helped by months of intensive design.
Rose Damen, Managing Director explains: “Since introducing our SeaXplorer concept in 2015, Damen Yachting has become well-established as the luxury explorer leader. But we expect the future will see even more Owners demanding the autonomy, safety and flexibility that the SeaXplorer offers. That’s why we decided to build the SeaXplorer 60 on spec for fast delivery in 2024. She is the only luxury explorer yacht available in her class and an amazing opportunity.”
The 1,160GT motor yacht demonstrates her explorer pedigree with a fully certified helideck, that doubles up as a party deck or basketball half-court, space for a range of tenders up to 10.5m (34.5ft) in length, hybrid power and propulsion with battery banks and ICE Class and IMO Polar Code compliant engineering. Her stores and tanks allow for up to 30 days of autonomous and safe operations in isolation without port call.
The yacht also has plenty of space for relaxing and socializing with 195 square meters (3,000sq. ft) of outdoor space, the can be flexibly configured to include a luxury cabana lounge and bar, dive deck, fitness and wellness zone or ski lodge.
The interiors come courtesy of a custom concept from London-based Jonny Horsfield, whilst Azure Yacht Design has created the exteriors that share the range’s design philosophy. Damen Yachting’s operational design partner EYOS Expeditions has helped engineer its explorer capabilities.
Damen Yachting’s SeaXplorer range is a series of purpose-built, long-range explore yachts. The first SeaXplorer, 62m (203.4ft) ANAWA was handed to her Owners last summer, with 77m (252.6ft) ‘La Datcha’ delivered at the end of 2020. A custom 58m (190ft) SeaXplorer is set to be delivered to her Owner next year.
