Italian yard AB Yachts has capped a busy few weeks with the launch of its 30.5m (100ft) AB 100 Superfast yacht.
The semi-custom superyacht features a boosted propulsion system featuring a triple Caterpillar C32 package that gives a top speed of 60 knots, making her one of the fastest yachts for her size.
Other details on the semi-custom superyacht are sparse, but we do know she has four staterooms that can accommodate eight guests and a personalized interior. More details will be revealed when she debuts at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September.
AB Yachts is the latest shipyard to showcase the strength of the yachting market at present, with the AB 100 Superfast one of four yachts to be launched or delivered recently. An AB 142 is just days from delivery after being launched a few weeks ago, a fully custom 24m (79ft) motor yacht has also just been handed over by AB Yachts and another AB 100 is set to be launched next month.
AB's sister shipyard Maiora has also delivered two 30.5m (100ft) yachts, a 30 Walkaround and a 30 Convertible, and another 30 Walkaround is also nearing launch and expected to hit the water within the next few weeks.
This comes in addition to Cantiere delle Marche announcing last month it had sold three superyachts in two weeks and a month prior to that Pearl Yachts said it has “never been busier” with four new boat contracts signed and a further five yachts handed over in the first quarter of 2020.
Both AB Yachts and Maiora are part of the Fipa Group and, according to YachtBuyer intelligence, they have delivered more than 150 yachts between them over the years, the largest of which is the 44.6m superyacht ‘Fast & Furious’ delivered by AB Yachts in 2015.
