Sunreef Yachts has revealed its latest superyacht, the 40m Explorer Eco, blending sustainability, eco-consciousness, and transatlantic capabilities into one luxurious power catamaran.
Accommodating up to 10 guests and supported by seven crew members, the 40m Explorer Eco features slimmer and more efficient hulls constructed using Sunreef's ultralight composite, minimizing energy consumption during high-speed cruising.
One of the yacht's most remarkable features, however, is its proprietary solar skin, covering every surface of the hull and superstructure to harness solar energy. This sustainable innovation powers all onboard systems, from air conditioning to the jacuzzi, providing a self-sufficient and eco-friendly cruising experience.
Designed with guest comfort and entertainment in mind, the yacht boasts an expansive bathing platform aft, which can transform into a beach club, watersports launchpad, or dive shop. Fold-down wings extend the platform, enhancing the connection to the water and maximizing exterior space.
The main deck features four spacious cabins, while the upper deck is dedicated to the owner's suite, offering a secluded area with a private terrace. Inspired by explorer and Sunreef ambassador Mike Horn, the yacht's design prioritizes guest experience, with bow designs that reduce pitching.
For propulsion, the multihull is equipped with an advanced electric powertrain, consisting of twin 540kW motors, enabling a cruising speed of 10 knots.
Exploring Greenland under sail with [ambassador Mike Horn] has served as a profound source of motivation for me to continue to act for a sustainable future within the yachting industry.”
