Upgraded Silent 55 Prepares For World Debut at Cannes

Austrian shipyard Silent Yachts have announced that the newly updated Silent 55 will be making her worldwide debut at the upcoming Cannes Yachting Festival in Autumn 2019. Running from the 10th until the 15th of September, the show based in the stunning Cote D'Azur will host the premiere of the 16.7 metre vessel as part of the iconic start to the new yachting season.

Running from the 10th until the 15th of September, the show based in the stunning Cote D'Azur will host the premiere of the 16.7 metre vessel as part of the iconic start to the new yachting season. 

Upgraded from the previous 2018 model, the new version of the popular Silent 55 boasts significant changes including twice the amount of power from the e-motors and an impressive advance in battery power. 

Improved levels of noise reduction also makes an impact on the newer version as silent electric propulsion provides for unlimited range and a world of exploring possibilities. 

As a self sufficient vessel, the Silent 55 requires very little maintenance thanks to a collection of energy efficient installations including 30 high efficiency solar panels and solar charge regulators.

Constructed with carbon fiber and a vacuum-bagged resin infusion, the Silent 55 has insulation qualities which further enhance the eco friendly ethos of the Silent 55. Keeping costs down and travel comfort at a maximum, structural designs have been implemented in such a way that safety is as much of a priority without taking away any of the pleasure of indulging in a luxury cruising experience.

Open spaces around the exteriors provide onboard guests with plenty of space to socialise and relax throughout every journey. With cruising capabilities of covering 100 miles a day for weeks at a time, every consideration has been made to allow guests as much use of the vessel as possible to get the most out of every destination around the regions of the world.

In addition to the many benefits of running a vessel with no noise or pollution, there are also a total of five different layouts available for owners to choose from. Every layout is created with guest comfort in mind and features many innovative solutions which can provide desirable comfort for longer journeys. 

Accommodation layouts range from three to six staterooms with three or four heads. Three of the available layouts include a full beam owner's stateroom, with all other staterooms compatible with either double or twin berths, each with their own head and separate shower.

Social spaces onboard make the most of the huge 40 m² combined space of the main saloon, galley and helm. Comfortable seating is located at varying points throughout the layout of the main deck, with additional seating around the cockpit for idyllic views of the surrounding area. 

Boasting top speeds of 20 knots and a cruising speed of 12 knots, the debuting vessel will showcase the standard layout comprising of a spacious saloon and a four stateroom layout, including the full beam owner stateroom in the bow.
