On Deck

Nick begins the tour on the deck, where he immediately notices the quality of the Princess V50, commenting on its solid, heavy feel and the thickness of the rails. On the deck saloon there is a large opening roof, which differentiates this version from the open version that has a soft sliding roof instead. At the foredeck the sunbathing cushions and the teak decks are both admired, before moving on to the anchor chain locker which has brackets for fender storage.

In the cockpit area, there is a tender storage on the bathing platforms, a large storage locker for deck gear, a remote-controlled passerelle (telescopic gangplank), and a deck shower for after-swim rinses. the wet bar with a grill, and the controls for the passerelle and hi-lo bathing platform are all highlighted.

Interior

Inside the yacht, there is a light oak interior which brightens up the space. He shows off the bar area, TV, and a large seating section around a table. The sliding roof section retracts to let in air and light, creating an open and airy space. The double helm here provides a commanding view.

Descending to the lower deck, the galley is showcased with its large fridge freezer, sink, ceramic hob, microwave/convection oven and grill. He appreciates the clever storage solutions, such as the cutlery drawer and the push-pull mechanism that prevents drawers from sliding open in rough weather. The dinette area here can be converted into an occasional sleeping area.

In the forward cabin, there are adaptable scissor berths which can be either separate or combined into a double bed. He notes the ample storage and ensuite bathroom which doubles as the day heads, accessible from both the cabin and the passage outside. The master cabin impresses with its full standing headroom, settee, storage, and large ensuite with a spacious shower.

Performance

Nick's tour of the engine room reveals a well-lit and accessible space, with easy access to the engines and well-labeled systems and drains. He notes the clever storage solution above the engines and the automatic fire extinguishing system. The engines are Volvo Penta IPS-600 with 435 horsepower each, and are capable of propelling the yacht to a little over 30 knots, with a cruising speed in the mid-20s and an estimated range of 300-350 miles at higher speed.
