YachtBuyer is the only place where you can directly compare competing yacht models, with full breakdowns on technical specifications and onboard features.

So with YachtBuyer you can not only enjoy the best data and market activity on your chosen yachts but also how they compare to their closest rivals.

In the Westport 112 and Horizon RP110 we have two fast cruising flybridge yachts, one with a much more conventional flybridge design and the other with a contemporary twist on the genre.

Both are crew-operated and similar in length and beam, externally they have very social designs, but they do use their internal spaces quite differently with one offering a five-cabin layout with a main deck Owner’s suite.

Performance

The Westport 112 and Horizon RP110 both offer good stability, a smooth ride and fast cruising speed thanks to their semi-displacement hulls with shaftdrive propulsion. With greater engine power options and fuel tank capacity the Westport 112 has a 26 knot top speed and 2,000nm range at 12 knots compared to the Horizon RP110’s 22 knot top speed and 650nm range at 18 knots.

Interior

These yachts share some similarities when it comes to their main salon design, with both sporting an L-shaped lounge area, with smart formal dining spaces amidships. However, the RP110’s galley is located aft, opposite the lounging area, where the Westport has extra seating in the form of a large sofa. This is because, where the Westport has a forward galley, the Horizon has an Owner’s cabin.

Accommodation

Here we see one of the main differences between the two models. Whilst the Westport has all of its sleeping quarters on the lower deck the Horizon’s Owner’s cabin is located forward on the main deck. Both have full-beam en-suites with his and hers layouts.

Below deck two queen-size VIPs and two twin staterooms make up the Horizon RP110s five cabins. This gives it an advantage over the Westport 112 which has four cabins in total, made up of one VIP, one queen-size and one twin berth.

Helm Station

The Horizon RP110 stands for Raised Pilothouse, and is an evolution of its successful P110 tri-deck. Like the Westport 112, the pilothouse area offers a broad helm console and space for guest seating and a generally quiet and comfortable environment for piloting.

Both lower helm consoles are impressive affairs with space for multiple displays and plenty of comfortable seating nearby to allow guests to be involved in the piloting if they want.

Deck Areas

The Horizon and Westport are very evenly matched when it comes to the main deck, both with aft deck spaces with a very social feel and similar tables and bars. Both also have side decks that feel wide, deep and safe with a protective overhang. Moving up a level though there are some differences with the Horizon enjoying a private upper deck with a dinette, bar, barbeque and Jacuzzi.

Flybridge

The Westport’s flybridge design is more conventional, with a lounge, bar and galley area forward and then aft there is space that can be used either for sun loungers or tender stowage, launch and recovery.

The Horizon RP110’s open flybridge is similar to its P110 tri-deck, but instead features a broad hardtop where the tri-deck had a Targa arch. It stretches aft of the pilothouse with L-shaped sofas, sunpads, a wet bar and a Jacuzzi and more space for sunloungers aft.

Beach Club

A true beach club should be a waterside lounge and terrace. Usually at the stern, a beach club might open on one, two or three sides of the yacht. It should be practical, able to withstand plenty of use, watersports and saltwater, but also luxurious, creating a spectacular retreat day or night.

Compare Layouts

The Westport 112 is the more traditional flybridge style of the two models with the driving position leading to a dining and lounge area, wet bar and a clear aft deck. The Horizon RP110’s open flybridge sits above a pilothouse deck that stretches back to offer a similar amount of space to the Westport, just used in a different way.

The standard Horizon RP110 offers a five stateroom layout, accommodating up to 12 guests, with a main deck Owner’s suite whilst the Westport 112’s four cabins provide accommodation for eight guests. The RP110 also offers a four-suite version with a country kitchen and full-beam Owner’s cabin on the lower deck.
