MAN R6 Range

Featuring a robust six-cylinder in-line configuration, the R6-730 and R6-800 engines (denoting 730hp and 800hp, respectively) operate as efficient four-stroke diesel engines. They are water-cooled and equipped with exhaust turbochargers and intercoolers, ensuring optimal performance.

Each cylinder is equipped with four valves to enhance combustion efficiency, in addition to a common rail direct fuel injection system with electronic control, ensuring precise fuel delivery for optimal power output. In terms of lubrication, the R6-730 and R6-800 utilize a closed system with forced feeding, along with oil cooling and filtering mechanisms, for longevity.

Cooling is achieved through a heat exchanger with both engine and seawater circuits, maintaining optimal operating temperatures even in demanding conditions. For added reliability, the MAN engines are electronically controlled using advanced engine monitoring capabilities that include diagnostic functionality. Furthermore, fuel compatibility is per DIN EN 590 standards, ensuring compatibility with widely available marine diesel fuel.
