Fairline describes its Squadron 58 as ‘the next chapter in Squadron’s illustrious history’ and this 17.67m (58ft) flybridge yacht does mark some notable firsts for the British yard.
The 58 replaces the Squadron 53 in the range and this three cabin cruiser yacht embraces the iconic Squadron look, whilst at the same time breaking new ground for Fairline.
The motor yacht bears many of the hallmarks that have made the range so popular, the interiors are stylish and spacious, excellent use of glass means there is plenty of natural light and the flybridge is sharp and social. Design-wise, for the first time, the cockpit and salon are separated by an angled patio door so the flybridge staircase does not encroach into either the cockpit or interior space but more notably another first is that the Squadron 58 comes with a beach club option for complete relaxation by the water.

Market Price Insight
YachtBuyer’s Market Watch reports that there are currently 4 Fairline Squadron 58 yachts listed for sale globally, with prices spanning a wide range due to generational differences and features. First generation models (Gen 1, 2000 - 2008) are the most affordable, priced between $400k and $514k, with an average asking price of $454.3k. Second generation yachts (Gen 2, 2010 - 2013) are likely to fall in the middle, there are currently none for sale globally. The arrival of the latest third generation models has influenced the pricing of earlier generations, as their updated styling, features and cutting-edge appeal shift buyer preferences, resulting in more competitive pricing for older models. This trend highlights how innovation drives market dynamics for the Squadron 58 line.

Over the last three years, the three generations of the Fairline Squadron 58 have shown clear pricing trends shaped by factors like market demand, condition, and features. The first generation models have the longest average time on the market, sitting for about 684 days, suggesting lower demand for the older features, and on average, they end up 3.95% lower than their initial asking price. The third generation models spend the shortest time on the market, on average around 12 days, which is unsurprising given their newer features and styling but they don't tend to need to lower the price in order to sell.
Fairline started development on the 58 in 2000 and the first model rolled off the production line in 2002. There was a large break of ten years before the second generation was launched in 2010. The third and latest generation Fairline 58 was announced in 2022 and saw its World Debut at Southampton International Boat Show the following year.
The quality of build, performance and seakeeping are all there. The Squadron name carries a hefty reputation but this all-new 58 is more than up to the challenge.
