Eight13 is a 27.74m motor yacht delivered by Italian shipyard Sanlorenzo in 2023. Sanlorenzo's in-house team has created the interior and exterior design of the superyacht.

Key Features

  • Beam-wide main salon with Minotti furniture
  • Direct foredeck flybridge access, sunbathing space
  • Private owner's stateroom with hidden TV
  • Pilot house with advanced navigation systems

Design & Construction

Designed around a semi-displacement GRP hull and superstructure she features a 6.5m beam and a 1.93m draft. The yacht has an internal volume of 95 GT (Gross Tonnes).

Exterior Design

Eight13 features a tender garage allowing for a four-meter tender to be slid into a space on its side, thanks to a trolley system. The hydraulic platform facilitates the tender's entry and exit from the water.

In the cockpit, the asymmetric layout is noteworthy, featuring a single side deck on the starboard side, which leads to the flybridge. This design choice affords the saloon additional interior space—estimated to be 10 to 15 percent more than some competitors' yachts with traditional layouts. The saloon's increased space is a direct benefit of this unique design approach.

Focusing on the exterior cockpit, it is clear that customization is a priority. The specific arrangement of two split tables in this area can be adjusted according to the owner’s preferences, including the option for a single large table or alternate furniture setups. The cockpit serves as a sheltered living space with easy access to boarding gates on either side, eliminating the need to use the bathing platform.

Moving along the exterior side deck to the foredeck, the side decks are equipped with essential tools for crew operations, including twin boat hooks securely stowed for safety and accessibility. Glazed sections along the bulwarks allow natural light into the main deck master cabin, preserving the view and ambience from within. Additional side doors provide direct access to the galley and a private terrace connected to the owner's cabin, offering a secluded area for relaxation and enjoyment of the surroundings on the foredeck.

The yacht's flybridge is accessible via the foredeck, thanks to the asymmetric design. This upper deck is a spacious area for sunbathing, with ample room for guests. Although there is only one walkway leading down to the bow, the flybridge remains an easily accessible and flexible space, with multiple entry points, including direct access from the cockpit. The flybridge features a helm, seating arrangements, and a vane-style sunroof that can be adjusted to manage sunlight exposure.

Eight13 features an asymmetric layout for enhanced space, a hydraulic tender garage, luxurious guest accommodations, and achieves a top speed of 33 knots with twin MAN V12 engines.

Interior Design

Eight13 has an interior that demonstrates a commitment to maximizing space and efficient function. In the main salon, the absence of side decks allows the area to extend fully to the yacht's beam, giving way to a window-side seating arrangement that offers impressive views. The opposite side of the salon features a lounging space, furnished with Minotti pieces, indicative of the brand's flexibility in customization. Furnishings can be altered to suit individual preferences, including the option to replace items such as the glass coffee table.

The salon's television, ingeniously concealed by a sliding mechanism, remains out of sight when not in use, maintaining the clean lines and uncluttered aesthetic of the space. This thoughtful integration of technology underscores the yacht's design philosophy, which prioritizes both form and function.

Moving towards the helm station, the yacht's design supports operational efficiency and comfort for the skipper. The helm is equipped with multiple screens for comprehensive oversight of the boat's systems. Though the screens are positioned at a distance, additional controls are conveniently placed within reach. The option for a seat with integrated controls is available, offering an alternative method of navigation from a relaxed position. A traditional, upright steering wheel and strategically placed ZF throttles and thrusters complement the helm station's user-centric design.

The galley serves as a functional space primarily for crew use having ample countertop space with fiddle edges ensuring items remain secure, while the inclusion of a substantial fridge-freezer unit and a robust cooking setup speaks to the practical needs of a professional operation. Direct access to the crew quarters from the galley further exemplifies the yacht's logical layout, emphasizing the importance of connectivity between workspaces.

Regarding lighting, the yacht employs a strategic use of natural light supplemented by carefully placed artificial lighting to enhance the ambience and functionality of each area. The atrium effect, achieved by opening up the space to allow light from the windscreen, creates a sense of openness and connectivity, a feature that serves both aesthetic and practical purposes.

Accommodation

The owner's suite aboard Eight13 is located at a significant distance from the machinery spaces, promising an undisturbed and tranquil environment, where the hum of stabilizers and generators is notably absent. This stateroom features a king-size bed, complemented by an integrated TV within a mirrored wall, which remains discreet when not in use. The suite includes a private office space, ample storage solutions including pop-out wooden compartments, and a dressing area with extensive wardrobe space and full-length mirrors. The en suite bathroom boasts marble finishes, twin sinks, a spacious shower, and skylights that usher in abundant natural light. A distinctive feature of this suite is the direct access to a private terrace, allowing an effortless transition from the comfort of the interior to the beauty of the surroundings.

Descending to the lower deck, Eight13 offers accommodations for guests in the form of three well-appointed cabins, each with its own distinct character. The VIP cabin serves as a secondary sanctuary with a generous double bed, substantial storage, and a private bathroom. Moreover, the cabin features opening portholes for natural ventilation and an integrated TV within a mirrored surface.

The yacht also provides two additional guest cabins, one equipped with twin beds that can be transformed into a double bed for added versatility, and the other arranged as a comfortable double. Both cabins are designed with ample storage, natural light from the portholes, and private bathrooms, ensuring that each guest enjoys their own secluded retreat. The interiors are climate-controlled, with individual settings for each cabin, ensuring a personalized environment for all.

Eight13's crew quarters are situated on the lower deck, designed with functionality and comfort in mind for the professional staff. The crew area includes two bunk bed cabins, capable of accommodating up to four crew members. The practical layout features a shared mess area with a table for dining or recreation, as well as convenient amenities such as a fridge and a washer and dryer. Two bathrooms are available, one on each side of the crew quarters, to enhance daily routines and privacy for the crew.

Performance & Capabilities

Eight13 is powered by a pair of robust MAN V12 diesel engines, each delivering 2000 horsepower. These enable the yacht to achieve a top speed of 33 knots, allowing swift journeys across the seas. The vessel is equally adept at cruising, offering a comfortable pace of 25 knots for longer voyages, with the option to reduce speed to 8-10 knots for a more leisurely experience. The integration of fin stabilizers ensures that even at lower speeds, guests aboard Eight13 can enjoy a tranquil and stable ride.

With her 9,000 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 1,100 nautical miles at an economic speed of 10 knots.  The yacht's engineering is complemented by the practicality of the engine room, which is accessible via a cockpit hatch or through a dedicated door.

The engine room itself has a control panel that is logically positioned and illuminated for optimal operation. The symmetry of the engine room reveals twin 35-kilowatt generators, each neatly installed to balance the space, while the exhaust systems are aligned for efficient performance. The attention to detail extends to the cabling, which is fastidiously organized and secured.
