Sanctuary Cove celebrates record numbers

Closing its doors on the 23rd May, the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show has reported record-breaking numbers despite the pressures of the ongoing pandemic.

Known across the globe for being a spectacular celebration of yachting on the Gold Coast, Sanctuary Cove usually attracts around 45,000 visitors, but for 2021 has hit an impressive 50,000.

Claiming a total of over A$250 million (US$193.4 million) in generated sales throughout the four-day event, organizers have been quick to celebrate the most successful show in its 32-year history.

Commenting they've 'never seen anything like it in terms of commercial success for exhibitors', the General Manager of the event, Johan Hasser, expressed his delight in seeing 'leads during what can only be described as a unique time for the industry'.

Highlights of the show included a larger platform to showcase participating yachts for sale, and some iconic show debuts from well-known shipyards Princess and Riviera.

However, it wasn't just the yachts that impressed the record crowds. Curated exhibitors around the event have also been reporting successful figures including British automobile name Bentley who sold six vehicles during the show.

Currently scheduled to return on 19–22 May for the 2022 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show, there are high hopes for the future of the established event plus more opportunities to view show debuts and much more.

If you're planning on attending the next Sanctuary Cove event, it is the ideal opportunity to view a broad range of sailing boats, cruisers, superyachts, RIBs and powerboats. To start the process of buying your next yacht, take a look at all the available new and used yachts for sale.
