Tiara Yachts History & Heritage
In 1974, Leon Slikkers founded S2 Yachts, marking the beginning of a journey that would lead to the creation of Tiara Yachts. With his two sons joining the company shortly after its inception, S2 Yachts initially focused on sailboats.
As industry pressures mounted, Leon leveraged the strength of a larger company, more capital, and the support of his sons to transition into motor yachts in 1976. The success of this new venture led to the incorporation of Tiara Yachts as a dedicated division focusing solely on motor yachts.
Today, the Slikkers family continues to own and operate S2 Yachts, including its subsidiary Tiara Yachts. The yachts are crafted at Tiara's manufacturing plant in Holland, Michigan. While Tiara had a manufacturing facility in South Carolina in the past, it was closed during the 2008-2009 US economic downturn. Subsequently, all manufacturing operations were consolidated and relocated to Holland, Michigan
