Delivered in 2012, Driller is a 40m motor yacht built by American shipyard Westport Yachts. The yacht's exteriors have been penned by Gregory Marshall, while Westport Yachts has designed her interiors.
Design & Construction
Designed around a semi-displacement GRP hull and superstructure she features a 8m beam and a 2m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 333 GT (Gross Tonnes).
Construction started in late 2010. This was the seventh yacht built in the series. Launched in March 2012 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in May 2012.
Accommodation
Driller offers accommodation for up to 10 guests in 5 suites comprising an owners cabin located on the main deck, 2 VIP cabins, 1 double cabin and 1 twin cabin. She is also capable of carrying up to 6 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience.
Performance & Capabilities
Powered by twin diesel MTU (12V 4000 M90) 12-cylinder 2,735hp engines running at 2100rpm, motor yacht Driller is capable of reaching a top speed of 24 knots, and comfortably cruises at 20 knots. With her 36,075 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 3,000 nautical miles at 12 knots. She has been fitted with stabilizers to increase on-board comfort when the yacht is at anchor, particularly in rough waters. Her semi-displacement hull design means she offers a great balance of space and speed.
Amenities
A gym with all the latest equipment allows her guests to keep their workout routines while at sea. In addition, a swim platform provides easy access to the ocean. Air conditioning offers increased on-board comfort, while underwater lights create a dazzling light display when the sun goes down. Crowning the yacht is a spacious sundeck with an inviting spread of sunpads and deck jacuzzi which provides excellent views.
