Design & Construction
Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 29'2" beam and a 9'2" draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 482 GT (Gross Tonnes).
Exterior Design
The exterior design of Drama Queen features a raked bow, contributing to its dynamic and sleek appearance. The deck is crafted from teak, offering durability and a classic aesthetic. Both the hull and superstructure are finished in a clean white color, creating a cohesive visual impact. A gold boot top provides a subtle accent, adding a touch of distinction. Below the waterline, the hull is painted black, ensuring functionality and a polished look.
A notable feature is the expansive main-deck aft, which provides a covered outdoor area equipped with a larger teak table and a fully-fitted teak bar. This area enhances the yacht's usability for both relaxation and entertainment. A stairway leads from this deck to the swimming platform on the lower deck, offering convenient access to the water.
On the boat-deck, situated directly above the main-deck bar area, there are two 6.7m Shamrock tenders and two Yamaha Waverunners, allowing for easy deployment and storage. The upper sun-deck, which becomes a spacious sunbathing area once the tenders are launched, also houses a mini-submarine, adding a unique element to the yacht's equipment.
The wheelhouse, positioned forward, offers comprehensive visibility and is outfitted with state-of-the-art navigational and communication equipment, including dual satcom and radar systems. Adjacent to the wheelhouse, the Captain's cabin and a small day-lounge with exercise machines are located, providing both functionality and comfort for the crew.
Interior Design
The main-deck dining saloon is panelled in teak, sourced from the shipyard's own seasoned store, and features a large teak and walnut table with 12 spacious settings. A notable feature in this room is a painting by Pierre Rudelle, which adds a touch of artistry to the space. Access to the dining room is convenient, with wide sliding doors from both the starboard passageway and the main saloon, allowing the area to be either quiet and intimate or opened up for larger gatherings.
The main saloon is furnished with McGuire hand-made furniture, including salvaged walnut balustrades and panels. Light-coloured couches and an old sea chest from the family's first sailing ship add to the room's character. Delicate lamps in the shape of the family symbol, a thistle, decorate the walls. The extra beam and large picture windows contribute to a calming and relaxing atmosphere.
The galley is comprehensively equipped, positioned aft of the main-deck. This setup facilitates easy access to the dining saloon, ensuring efficient meal service. The galley is designed to meet the demands of professional cooking, with ample space and state-of-the-art appliances.
The helm, radio-room, and Captain's cabin are finished in teak joinery. The helm offers excellent all-round visibility and is equipped with modern navigational and communication tools, including dual satcom and two radars.
