Construction started in early 2015. This was the second yacht built on the N96 design. Launched in August 2016 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in November 2016.

Exterior Design

The exterior design of Lacey Kay, a Nordhavn 96, is a reflection of the shipyard's commitment to creating robust and functional yachts that also cater to the preferences of those seeking a higher level of comfort and style. The yacht's profile is characterized by substantial, well-proportioned lines that convey stability and a no-nonsense approach to seafaring.

Starting at the stern, the bathing platform is a practical space equipped for both fishing and diving activities. It features a fishing chair and sockets for stanchions, allowing for a secure area to fish, complete with a fish box. For diving enthusiasts, there is an onboard dive compressor for refilling bottles and a hot water shower for rinsing off after a dive.

Moving up from the platform, the expansive cockpit area serves as a versatile outdoor space. It includes a bar area and a barbecue, alongside refrigeration and storage units, providing functionality for entertaining and relaxing in the open air. The area is designed to offer both sun and shade, catering to guest comfort regardless of the weather.

The yacht's side decks are easily accessible from the galley, facilitating crew movement and service efficiency. On the upper deck, guests are greeted with panoramic views and an inviting arrangement of seating spaces. A key feature here is a hot tub, accentuating the yacht's capacity for leisure. Additional amenities such as a barbecue and refrigeration for drinks underscore the deck's suitability for social gatherings.

The boat deck accommodates a 19-foot tender, supported by a robust crane system that ensures ease of launching and retrieval. The foredeck, featuring the Portuguese bridge and bow area with anchor windlasses, is designed for both functionality and guest enjoyment, providing a secure vantage point from which to admire the vessel's surroundings.

Throughout the exterior, practical elements such as wind breaks, fishing rod holders, and storage boxes are integrated with the design, emphasizing the yacht's dual nature as both a capable long-range cruiser and a vessel equipped for luxury living on the water.

Lacey Kay, a Nordhavn 96, melds robust functionality with luxury, featuring a fishing-equipped bathing platform, a hot tub on the upper deck, and exquisite woodwork interiors, comfortably accommodating up to eight guests.

Interior Design

The salon area, which serves as the heart of the yacht's social space, showcases exquisite woodwork with stainless steel accents, combining durability with a polished aesthetic.

Furnishings within the salon are arranged to facilitate convivial gatherings, with a lounge area that includes a retractable television for entertainment. Ample natural light filters through the windows, enhancing the interior's welcoming atmosphere. A notable feature is the push-clip drawers and additional latches designed to secure contents even when the yacht is underway in rough seas.

Adjacent to the salon is the dining area, characterized by its pragmatic design that does not compromise on sophistication. The dining table is surrounded by storage solutions for glassware and crockery, ensuring everything is within reach. A bar area adjacent to the dining space provides an additional spot for guests to enjoy beverages and engage in conversation.

In the galley, practicality reigns with a layout optimized for ease of movement and service. It is equipped with modern appliances including a coffee machine, wine cooler, ice maker, and a trash compactor for efficient waste management. A full-sized dishwasher, oven, hob, and extractor fan mirror the capabilities of a high-end residential kitchen. The inclusion of a small pantry area and significant refrigeration and storage space underlines the yacht's capacity for extended voyages.

The galley also features direct access to the side deck, a thoughtful touch that underscores the yacht's consideration for crew movement and service flow. Day heads are conveniently located on this level as well as the upper deck, ensuring accessibility for crew and guests alike.

Accommodation

Lacey Kay's accommodation is generously laid out to host up to eight guests across four well-appointed cabins. Each cabin is an enclave of comfort, designed to provide a restful retreat after a day of maritime adventure. The staterooms are all equipped with their own private ensuite bathrooms, ensuring privacy and convenience for all guests.

The owner's suite features a large double bed, ample storage, and sizeable windows that allow natural light to accentuate the fine woodwork and craftsmanship within. Its ensuite bathroom is equally impressive, offering a spacious environment for refreshment and relaxation.

Complementing the VIP quarters are two further guest cabins, each designed to uphold the same standard of comfort found throughout the yacht. These cabins are versatile, with one offering a double bed and the other providing twin beds that can be converted into a double setup if required. Both cabins feature storage solutions and private ensuite facilities, ensuring that guests' needs are fully catered to.

For the crew of five, Lacey Kay has been thoughtfully designed to ensure that those who work on board can perform their duties with efficiency while also having spaces of their own to unwind. The crew accommodation includes a dedicated captain's cabin with a double bed, television, and private bathroom.
