- Steinway grand piano in main saloon
- Stern garage houses tenders and water toys
- Sun deck includes large heated pool
- Owner's Suite spans entire private deck
Design & Construction
Designed around a full displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 10.5m beam and a 3.65m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 1,083 GT (Gross Tonnes).
Construction started in mid 1999 with the keel laid under the project name 'Anthelion'. The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards.
Exterior Design
The exterior styling includes bow lines that fall slightly downward, offering the pilothouse excellent forward views. This design also accommodates a mezzanine level, raising the forward third of the yacht by half a deck to improve spatial efficiency. The crew quarters, positioned below the pilothouse, benefit from this layout by occupying a more spacious section of the bow, allowing for additional storage and operational areas below.
A notable feature is the well-designed stern garage. This area houses two tenders – a classic 8.5m Stan Craft and a 7.6m Novurania – along with Bombardier four-stroke jet skis, diving gear, and other water toys. The tenders are launched via a side door in the hull and a stern door that folds down to create a bathing platform and tender dock. To address potential heeling issues during tender deployment, a knee-high dam and water ballast system were incorporated to maintain stability.
The main deck aft, often the primary entry point for guests, features a fully glazed doorway leading into the guest saloons. The circular observation lounge with extensive glazing offers panoramic views, while the aft deck includes a versatile settee and sunpad for relaxation.
The sun deck provides a multifunctional outdoor living area. Forward seating is protected by a glass windbreak, and a dining area is situated under the mast. A large heated pool with cascading water features and umbrella-shaded sun loungers occupy the aft section. An innovative addition is the golf tee setup, allowing for recreational golfing with floating flags serving as targets.
Interior Design
The interior design of Lucky Lady is characterized by a clean, uncluttered aesthetic, with a focus on functionality and understated elegance. The materials used throughout the yacht include white wool carpets, dark apple mahogany, and Norwegian birch burl. The combination of these materials provides both formality and brightness, creating a balanced atmosphere.
The main deck features a large saloon that serves multiple purposes. It includes a formal conversation area with settees and easy chairs, as well as a games table. Decoratively, the area is defined by the use of white for the carpet and most furnishings, contrasted by a band of dark apple mahogany and Norwegian birch burl on the walls. The saloon also includes a music area, complete with a Steinway grand piano, one of only 300 designed by Dakota Jackson in 2002.
Adjacent to the main saloon is a formal dining room that can seat 12 guests. The dining room is flanked by large windows on one side and mirrors on the other, ensuring that all guests have a view. The room is designed to enhance the dining experience, with searchlights capable of illuminating the surroundings at night.
The guest saloon on the main deck is a circular observation lounge with 270° glazing, providing ample natural light and views. This area includes a settee, a television that pops up from a bureau, and a bar cabinet. The design is focused on comfort and functionality, with furniture that can be adjusted for different uses.
The lobby area continues the theme of alternating dark mahogany and birch burl, enhanced by a glass waterfall that descends the central column of the stairs. The glass elements are almost frameless, and the lobby is flooded with natural light from large side deck doors.
Accommodation
Lucky Lady offers accommodation for up to 10 guests in 5 well-appointed cabins. The layout includes three double cabins and a convertible twin/double cabin.
The Owner's Suite spans an entire deck, providing an expansive and private living area. This suite includes a sizable saloon, a study, and a large en suite bedroom. The master bedroom features a semicircular design with a 180° panoramic view, allowing for a breathtaking experience upon waking. A private deck off the master suite offers a tranquil space for relaxation or breakfast with a view. Additional amenities in the owner's suite include a lady's dressing room with luxurious fittings, a marbled bathroom with a large window, and a gentleman's shower room adorned with blue Brazilian marble.
The lower deck houses the guest accommodations, consisting of four en suite cabins. Three of these are double cabins, while the fourth is a convertible twin/double cabin, offering adaptable sleeping arrangements. Each cabin is designed with comfort and privacy in mind, providing a restful retreat for guests.
The captain's cabin is located just aft of the bridge, while the remaining 14 crew members are accommodated in seven double-bunked cabins. The crew area also includes messes for officers and crew, as well as a six-machine laundry, ensuring all onboard services run smoothly.
