Design & Construction
Designed around a steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 10.3m beam and a 3.45m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 803 GT (Gross Tonnes).
She was delivered to her owners in June 1991.
Exterior Design
The exterior design of Paris is marked by a functional and straightforward approach. The vessel features a clipper bow, which contributes to its navigational efficiency. The deck is constructed from teak, a material chosen for its durability and resistance to harsh marine conditions.
The hull and superstructure are both painted white, presenting a unified and clean appearance. A dark blue boot top line provides a contrasting accent, while the light blue antifoul coat is selected for its effectiveness in reducing marine growth on the hull. This combination of colors and materials ensures that Paris maintains both aesthetic appeal and practical performance.
The tenders are stored on the sun-deck, utilizing space efficiently and maintaining stability. The tenders have their own derricks at the sun-deck level, and an additional crane is concealed within the aft rail of the bridge-deck, capable of lifting heavy equipment or a tender straight onto the dockside.
The exterior also features a sizeable bathing platform at the stern, with the design incorporating a 2,000-liter petrol tank situated in an extension beneath the platform. This placement allows for safe storage and easy access to the fuel for the tenders.
Interior Design
The dining salon is an essential area, equipped with a laminated glass table that seats 12. Each place at the table is illuminated by individual halogen spotlights set into the ceiling. The dining area is decorated with an Italianate mural and showcases the owner's collection of Phoenician artifacts.
The main salon, designed by Elie Garzouzi from Paris, is paneled in European oak. Noteworthy features include a slim band of gold-trimmed Galushat, a distinctively-patterned hardened skin of a ray-fish, and occasional tables topped with antique mosaic.
The TV and games room is fully equipped for entertainment, including a projection system. The projector is designed to stow away invisibly at the touch of a button.
The interior design ensures practicality and comfort, with a focus on noise reduction. The guest staterooms, for instance, have been designed with bathrooms and dressing rooms placed strategically to insulate against noise from the engine room. This layout minimizes disruption and enhances the overall living experience on board.
Accommodation
Paris offers accommodation for up to 16 guests. The owner's suite is strategically located on the bridge deck, providing panoramic views and direct access to a private deck area. This suite includes a master stateroom and an owner's study, occupying the entire aft end of the bridge deck. This arrangement offers a secluded and serene environment for the owner.
Family accommodation consists of four staterooms situated on the mezzanine decks at the forward part of the yacht. Each of these staterooms is entered via the main, starboard-side entrance lobby. The family area includes two twin staterooms for children, each equipped with a third Pullman berth and ensuite bathroom. Additionally, two single cabins for family use are located on the lower deck.
Guest accommodation is located on the lower deck aft, accessed via a stairway from the main salon. There are five large guest staterooms, each uniquely decorated with individual color schemes and names such as 'Romance,' 'Bagatelle,' and 'Les Anemones.' The staterooms are designed for maximum comfort, with bedrooms positioned centrally to minimize noise from the engine room and lazarette. Each guest stateroom is equipped with an ensuite bathroom, with additional layers of dressing rooms providing further sound insulation.
She is also capable of carrying up to 13 crew onboard. The crew is accommodated forward of the second engine room, which includes a comfortable mess-room, a small galley, and pleasant twin-bunked cabins, each with its own shower.
Performance & Capabilities
Powered by twin diesel Caterpillar (3512B) 12-cylinder 1,501hp engines, motor yacht Paris is capable of reaching a top speed of 16 knots, and comfortably cruises at 14 knots. With her 180,000 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 15,547 nautical miles at 14 knots.
