Design & Construction

Designed around a semi-displacement GRP hull and superstructure she features a 7.98m beam and a 1.9m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 333 GT (Gross Tonnes).

Construction started in mid 2008. This was the third yacht built on the Westport W130 design. Launched in September 2009 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in December 2009.

Exterior Design

The profile of the yacht is sleek, with a clean line flowing smoothly from the transom to the bow. Large expanses of glazing break the white of the superstructure on all deck levels. The immediate foredeck serves as an operational space, before a small curved seating area with a table for guest use. Two short twin staircases lead up to a small balcony level before a central stepway leads to the upper deck forward guest area where sun loungers are in place. The slightly leaning mast tower sits above a rounded canopy, offering some shade to the sundeck area.

Guest areas were designed into the aft section of the foredeck, featuring forward-facing seating and a table in front of the owner's cabin. Sun lounging is provided on the pilothouse deck, offering elevated, uninterrupted views. Aft of the pilothouse deck, relaxed seating areas are situated forward of the tender storage area.

The flybridge deck offers ample elevated guest areas for dining and sun lounging, along with a jacuzzi pool nestled amongst sun pads. The semi-circle deck canopy overhead features three areas of glazing, providing views of the sky from the jacuzzi and infusing the space with light, while offering shelter—a notable design feature. Curved staircases between the decks are featured on the starboard side. Glass panels provide safety and security, creating a boundary for the deck spaces.

Smart teak decks complement a color palette of rich dark brown cushions, and dark wood, alongside polished teak furniture. At the bulwarks reaching the aft deck relaxation area, designers introduced glazing to provide views through the supports.

Step into a realm of sophistication on Rice Quarters with a sleek profile and luxurious touches, featuring a flybridge jacuzzi, marble bar, and fireplace.

Interior Design

The interior styling exudes richness and elegance, highlighted by highly polished dark wood featured in wall paneling and larger furniture pieces. Complementing the wood, the palette includes cream, gold, and warm beige tones, with intricate patterns inlaid within the fabrics, creating a warm and inviting ambiance. Large windows allow natural light to flood the space.

A substantial marble-topped bar serves as a focal point for social gatherings, while a fireplace adds a homely feel. The occasional use of deep dark brown leather provides a welcomed contrast against the predominantly cream soft furnishings, adding a touch of retro charm with a Multicade computer game for added fun.

Marble is extensively used throughout the bathrooms, with occasional gold accents creating highlights.

Accommodation

The accommodation onboard this Westport W130 yacht is for ten guests in five en-suite staterooms. The owner's suite features twin bathrooms with a shared shower; two VIP staterooms are situated on the lower deck aft, and two guest staterooms, featuring twin beds, are located on the lower deck, amidships.

A crew of up to seven is accommodated on the lower deck forward in two twin-berth cabins, a captain's cabin, and a double-berth engineer's cabin in the aft crew area.

Performance & Capabilities

Powered by twin diesel MTU (12V 4000 M90) 12-cylinder 2,735hp engines running at 2100rpm, motor yacht Rice Quarters is capable of reaching a top speed of 24 knots, and comfortably cruises at 20 knots. With her 36,075 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 3,000 nautical miles at 12 knots. Her semi-displacement hull design means she offers a great balance of space and speed.
