The 40.5m expedition yacht Nuri was delivered to her owners in 2021 by Italian shipyard Cantiere delle Marche. Her interior design and exterior styling comes from the drawing boards of Francesco Paszkowski Design, while Hydro Tec is responsible for her naval architecture.

Design & Construction

Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 8m beam and a 2.5m draft. The yacht has an internal volume of 397 GT (Gross Tonnes).

Construction started in late 2018. Launched in January 2021 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was completed at Cantiere delle Marche's Cantiere delle Marche yard in Italy where she was commissioned and delivered to her owners in April 2021.

Exterior Design

Nuri's profile exudes a sense of movement and grace, achieved through a study of architectural geometry that challenges the conventional look of an explorer yacht. Paszkowski's vision for Nuri incorporates window shapes, a strut set amidships, and curved overhangs, all of which come together to create an impression of perpetual motion, whether the yacht is cruising through open waters or resting at anchor.

The superstructure of Nuri, meticulously crafted by skilled metal carpenters, stands out as a testament to bespoke craftsmanship, eschewing the common approach of using molds. This attention to detail ensures that each curve and line is as unique as it is precise, contributing to the yacht's distinctive silhouette.

In an innovative approach to explorer yacht design, Nuri features low-cut bulwarks, enhancing the connection between guests and the sea. This thoughtful modification allows for uninterrupted views from the main and upper deck saloon windows, facilitating an immersive maritime experience that is both intimate and expansive. The emphasis on al fresco areas further accentuates this close contact with the ocean, allowing guests to revel in the natural environment without any barriers.

The sundeck, a crowning jewel of Nuri's outdoor spaces, is thoughtfully designed for comfort and panoramic viewing. The hardtop provides shade for the dining area, while a sleek glass wraparound ensures unobstructed vistas and a cozy setting for guests with a jacuzzi. Paszkowski's dedication to maintaining clear sight lines is evident here; the superstructure's design is such that it nearly disappears from view when observed from the sundeck, reinforcing the yacht's harmonious integration with the surrounding seascape.

Nuri's interior is more than just a living space; it is a carefully curated environment that reflects the owner's style and the designer's vision, where every detail contributes to an experience of luxury that is both chic and serene.

Interior Design

The commitment to a seamless and welcoming atmosphere is evident throughout the vessel, achieved through the careful selection of materials, hues, and unique design elements that harmonize to create a sense of sophistication and warmth.

Neutral tones dominate the color palette, accented by darker shades that provide depth and contrast. This subtle interplay is further enhanced by the presence of bespoke furniture and art pieces, each carefully chosen or designed to captivate the eye and enrich the onboard experience. In the main saloon, for example, large niches have been artfully incorporated into the walls, serving as stages for the owner's collection of sculptures, turning the space into a floating gallery of sorts.

Craftsmanship and attention to detail are hallmarks of the Nuri's interior. The walls are clad in light oak, which has undergone a meticulous process of polishing, bleaching, and brushing to achieve the desired aesthetic effect. This is complemented by polished rosewood accents and leather details, adding layers of texture and luxury. The flooring features brushed oak slats, while the ceilings boast lacquered panels, contributing to the overall sense of refinement.

Continuing the theme of Italian excellence, the yacht's furnishings are sourced from a prestigious lineup of Italian brands including Minotti, Poltrona Frau, and Flexform. These renowned names provide sofas, armchairs, chairs, and coffee tables, each piece contributing to the overarching narrative of understated luxury. Custom-designed beds, bedside tables, and light fixtures by Paszkowski's studio echo the yacht's unique identity, ensuring that every detail aligns with the overarching design ethos.

The careful juxtaposition of materials plays a significant role in maintaining a cohesive atmosphere throughout the yacht. For example, the polished rosewood used for the exterior furnishings contrasts with the matt finish employed within the interior, a subtle but impactful distinction that speaks to the designer's meticulous approach.

Accommodation

The yacht's interior is configured to comfortably accommodate up to 10 guests in 5 suites, ensuring a personalized and intimate experience amidst the expansive seas. Guests are invited to retire to their luxurious cabins, each meticulously crafted to provide a serene haven of relaxation. The number of cabins and their arrangements are designed to optimize space while maintaining an ambiance of opulence and elegance.

Central to Nuri's accommodation is the owner's suite, a masterpiece of nautical design that serves as a private sanctuary for the proprietor of this majestic vessel. The suite is a testament to the owner's vision of grandeur and sophistication, featuring ample room for rest and recreation, including a dedicated office space for moments of contemplation or business. A sliding wall in the suite allows for an adaptable environment, offering the choice of openness or privacy as desired. The suite is a sanctuary of tranquility, with Jerusalem Stone selected for the marble bathrooms, exuding an air of timeless elegance. Bathroom fittings and accessories by Zucchetti and Paffoni further underline the commitment to quality and style.

The master cabin is complemented by additional staterooms, each offering a welcoming atmosphere and appointed with the finest materials and finishes. The cabins are designed to accommodate guests in supreme comfort, with attention to detail that extends to the selection of bespoke furniture, artwork, and ambient lighting. The interior design harmoniously blends neutral tones with dark accents, creating an environment of understated luxury.

Notably, the guest cabins are crafted to ensure that all who stay aboard Nuri feel the embrace of its luxurious touchpoints, from the sumptuous bed linens to the exquisite materials that adorn the walls and furnishings. The cabins are havens of tranquility, where guests can unwind and rejuvenate after a day of exploration or leisure.

Crew accommodation is equally well-considered, providing those who work tirelessly behind the scenes with the comfort and functionality necessary to maintain the highest standards of service. The crew quarters for up to 9 are designed to offer a restful retreat, ensuring that every member of the team is well-rested and prepared to deliver an exceptional experience to the guests.

Performance & Capabilities

Powered by twin diesel MTU (10V 2000 M72) 1,207hp engines running at 2250rpm. The engines were chosen to ensure that Nuri can achieve a top speed of 14.5 knots, demonstrating a robust propulsion system capable of delivering both performance and endurance.

Nuri is not just about strength but also about swiftness. With a top speed of 14.5 knots, she stands out in her class, allowing her passengers to swiftly journey from one destination to the next. Her cruising speed of 12.8 knots offers a smooth and efficient voyage, perfect for enjoying the luxurious amenities on board while traversing the open seas.

One of Nuri's most remarkable features is her considerable range. At a more economical speed of nine knots, this vessel boasts a range of 5,500 nautical miles, enabling her to undertake extensive voyages without the need for frequent refueling. This extensive range is particularly beneficial for those looking to explore far-flung destinations with the assurance of a reliable and enduring vessel.

The ingenuity of Nuri extends below the waterline with her advanced hull design by Hydro Tec. The hull features a round bilge, a displacement form with a bulbous bow, and flatter sections aft, optimized for higher power and a combination of speed and stability. This design is fine-tuned to deliver not only the desired speed but also to provide excellent efficiency and seakeeping characteristics, ensuring that Nuri can handle the most demanding ocean conditions with grace and poise. She has also been fitted with stabilizers to increase on-board comfort when the yacht is at anchor, particularly in rough waters.

The balance of form and function positions Nuri as a yacht that is equally at home in the remote corners of the globe as it is in the azure waters of the Mediterranean.

Amenities

In addition, a swim platform provides easy access to the ocean. Air conditioning offers increased on-board comfort. The sundeck is the social hub of the yacht and an inviting spread of sunpads.
