Construction started in mid 1990. She was delivered to her owners in March 1993.

Exterior Design

The hull, painted in a sophisticated white, complements the sea and sky, providing a canvas for the natural beauty of the oceanic backdrop. The yacht's superstructure, defined by its clean contours and well-proportioned decks, emphasizes practicality without compromising on style.

On deck, the Wellesley offers spacious areas for outdoor activities and relaxation. The sundeck, a prominent feature, is home to a sizeable swimming pool with an innovative spillpool and waterfall feature, providing a refreshing escape for guests. Around the pool, ample sun loungers and a barbecue setup invite leisure and socialization.

The yacht's alfresco dining configurations enhance the experience of dining at sea, allowing guests to enjoy their meals with panoramic views. The upper deck aft lounge extends a casual yet refined setting, with a sunpad spread adjoining the space, perfect for unwinding.

Further enhancing the connection with the sea, the Wellesley's beach club serves as an inviting spot for guests to relax close to the waterline. Here, the swim platform becomes a focal point for water-based activities, granting easy access to the yacht's selection of water toys, including Seabobs and Jet-skis.

The Wellesley’s interior spaces are designed with a clear vision, incorporating high-quality materials and amenities that honor the vessel's Art Deco inspiration.

Interior Design

Crafted by the esteemed designer Donald Starkey, the interior of The Wellesley reflects a distinct Art Deco theme, evident throughout the vessel's spaces. The main salon, positioned on the upper deck, welcomes guests with an elegant nameplate, and the area is decorated with black and white photographs that add a touch of character. Utilizing a color scheme of light gray and cream, the salon fosters a serene ambiance. Wide windows afford abundant natural light and ventilation during the day, while a large TV screen caters to entertainment needs, transforming the space into a cinema-like environment.

Adjoining the main salon, the formal dining salon accommodates up to 10 guests. The design continuity is maintained here, with furnishings and appointments that complement the Art Deco motif.

The Club Lounge on The Wellesley stands as a key feature of the yacht, tailored for guests with a penchant for refined pleasures. The lounge showcases a bespoke humidor, encased in glass, displaying an array of vintage cigars. This space is characterized by leather seating, a rich coffee color palette, and black and white photographs of historical figures. The lounge is more private than the main salon and is equipped with an entertainment system and a small study area. Whiskey cabinets with snakeskin embossing and crystal glasses flank the humidor.

Materials throughout the yacht’s interior include gold-veined black marble, which can be found in the en-suite of the master cabin, and Arabescato Corchia marble in the bathrooms, paired with Hermès amenities. These choices reflect an adherence to quality and aesthetics that resonate with the yacht’s overall design language.

Accommodation

Accommodation aboard The Wellesley is designed to cater to up to 12 guests across five cabins, providing a comfortable and refined experience for all onboard. The centerpiece of the yacht's accommodation is the master cabin, which is situated on the owner's deck. This cabin boasts panoramic views, a king-size double bed, and a walk-in closet, creating a private haven for the principal charter guests. The master cabin also features an adjacent en-suite bathroom, finished with gold-veined black marble, equipped with a sit-down shower and dual sinks, providing a spacious and luxurious setting. The exclusive space of the master suite, not including the en-suite and walk-in closet, extends to 40 square meters.

Close to the master cabin, there is a cabin designed to accommodate a nanny or additional staff, featuring twin beds and an en-suite bathroom, ensuring that important support personnel are always within reach.

The yacht's accommodation continues on the lower deck, where guests will find a full-beam VIP Cabin. This 30 square meter space includes a king-size double bed, a spacious walk-in closet, and a generously proportioned bathroom en-suite, complete with a separate shower and head. This VIP Cabin is designed to offer a sense of elegance and comfort akin to the master cabin.

Also located on the lower deck are two additional cabins: a Queen-size cabin to starboard and a Twin cabin to port. Both of these cabins have the benefit of their own en-suite facilities, ensuring privacy and convenience for guests staying in these rooms.

Throughout the yacht, each cabin is finished with a high-quality marble, complementing the vessel's overall aesthetic and providing guests with a luxurious space to retreat to at the end of the day.
