Superyacht FREIRE, the 112m (367ft) explorer that is set to become one of the largest Spanish built yachts ever, has touched the water for the first time following her technical launch.
She was launched into the Vigo Galicia river, adjacent to her eponymously named builder’s Vigo Galicia yard, and will now return to the Spanish yard’s facilities to undergo final outfitting.
Also known as hull number 724, information is scarce about the superyacht, although we do know she is a collaboration with Marin Teknikk AS on her naval architecture, and her interior and exterior design comes from the pen of Bannenberg & Rowell. Photos capturing her show expansive deck space, hinting at her 6,950GT and a steel and aluminum superstructure.
Established in 1895, Freire builds and repairs a range of vessels, including oceanographic survey vessels, offshore support vessels, fishing vessels, tall ships, as well as large motor yachts. Most recently it built RV Belgica for the Belgian Government, with the 69m oceanographic research vessels undergoing sea trials in the spring.

In common with most explorers, superyacht FREIRE offers an impressive stature and long-range, ocean-going capabilities, and will take her place in the 50 largest yachts in the world when she is delivered, potentially overtaking superyacht MARYAH in terms of Gross Tonnage (GT).
