75m Admiral superyacht KENSHŌ launched

The 1,980GT superyacht will become Admiral’s flagship yacht upon her delivery early next year and features a state-of-the-art propulsion system.

Admiral has launched its 75m (246ft) superyacht KENSHŌ, which combines standout superyacht style luxury with cutting-edge technology and engineering for her onboard systems.

The 1,980GT motor yacht has been described as an “owner-driven project that redefines the spatial constraints, distribution and luxury on a superyacht”. The Owner’s heavy influence has been translated by exterior designers Azure Yacht Design in collaboration with archineers.berlin, and French studio Jouin Manku on the interiors.

Her standout features include a 22 square meter (237 sq. ft) beach club area with a pool facing aft, a large full-beam master suite that can be open or subdivided into separate areas and spacious interiors accentuated by 2.7m (9ft) high ceilings, vast floor-to-ceiling windows and the use of high-quality materials such as teak, marble, onyx and bronze. She is expected to be able to accommodate 16 guests across eight cabins.

Superyacht KENSHO’s pioneering use of technology includes a Veth azimuth gearless steerable propulsion system with the iElectric motor offering 360° maneuverability. The permanent magnet electrical motors bring a range of benefits in addition to optimum maneuverability, including higher efficiency, greater power and an increase in living space due to their compact construction. The propulsion system also makes use of five variable speed generators, that are equipped with an antiparticle system to optimize consumption and reduce emissions.

Superyacht KENSHO is expected to have a top speed of 15.4 knots and a cruising range of 4,350nm at a speed of 12 knots.

“Thanks to KENSHO we proudly confirm our know-how and specific skills in building mega-yachts of such innovation and beauty” said Giovanni Costantino, The Italian Sea Group Founder & CEO. “This motor yacht represents a further achievement confirming our synergy with international professionals. Working on this masterpiece full of detail and research has been a wonderful experience for all of us”.

Superyacht KENSHO is anticipated to undertake sea trials later this year, before being delivered to her Owner early in 2022. She is then expected to be made available for charter around the Mediterranean for summer 2022.

The name KENSHO is taken from a Japanese term from the Zen tradition, which means enlightenment or seeing one’s true nature. The superyacht will temporarily become the largest Admiral superyacht on the water, usurping the 73.2m (240ft) superyacht PLANET NINE delivered in 2018 and famous for being the yacht in the Hollywood blockbuster Tenet in 2020.

However, the yard, which is the flagship brand of The Italian Sea Group, has bigger projects in the pipeline. These include the innovative 76.8m (256ft) custom-built hybrid superyacht BLUE MARLIN set for delivery in 2023 and the even bigger superyacht project TITANIUM a 100m (328ft) superyacht described as “incredibly dynamic” and a “landmark for the industry”, due for delivery in 2025.
