Dominator Yachts celebrate the Ilumen 28 as it wins a World Yacht Trophy for the second year in a row. In 2017 the first Ilumen 28 hull, CALIENTE, with a double award in the Best Interiors and Best Innovation categories. Continuing the winning streak, CADET V has won the category of Best Semi-Custom Yacht in the 2018 World Yacht Trophy award ceremony.
During the 15th edition of the world renowned awards ceremony, the Dominator Yachts team were presented with the award for Best Semi-Custom Yacht on the Ritz Carlton beach during the Cannes Yachting Festival. Organised by Yachts France, the French yachting magazine, a total of 18 trophies were presented at an elaborate ceremony which was closely followed by an impressive parade of 30 yachts.
The winning Dominator Ilumen 28 hull, CADET V, has been detailed as a piece of art and boasts a background of thorough research which has led to impeccable attention to detail. Available as a semi-planing or semi-displacement vessel, the Ilumen 28 continually attracts attention as a popular contender for its size range.
We used three tonalities of the finest quality oak enhanced with richly grained palisander wood. The floors feature hand-made custom parquet, while the interior in bespoke tones of blue and grey reflect the colour palette of the sea.

As a best of both vessel, the collaborative semi-custom design between Andrea Agusta and Alberto Mancini promotes an efficient production turnaround, which still allows for the flexibility usually associated with full custom builds. Powered by MAN engines with shaft drive or pods, the Ilumen 28 can reach top speeds up to 28 knots, with a displacement of 72 - 74 tonnes.
Interiors are sophisticated and elegant, highlighted by the abundant natural light let in through the full length floor to ceiling windows. Ebony, white onyx and zebrano wood are dominant features in the elaborate decor along with contrasting brushed steel and hand stitched nubuck leather.
Accommodation layouts provide a four or five cabin arrangement, including an impressive master suite which has a retractable ceiling revealing stunning 270 degree views on a private bow terrace.
