Gresham Yacht Design presents futuristic Thor Explore concept

British design studio Gresham Yacht Design has revealed an explorer yacht design concept which looks out of this world.

In reports which suggest the concept could be built within three or four years, the 100m (328') Thor Explore encompasses several key features which will leave a lasting impression on the growing market of yachts for sale.

Designed in reverse, from the interior outwards, Thor Explore showcases a unique interior design which features organic, coral-like, shapes in addition to double height windows and abundant natural light throughout.

The most captivating and astonishing selling point for the latest expedition yacht design is the floor separating the main and upper salon.

Made out of glass, the floor can change its opacity so it can either be completely see through to enhance the concept of volume, or opaque to provide privacy.

A sunken, circular seating area sits almost between the decks, creating more character to the main salon and an additional social area for the upper salon.

As an explorer yacht design concept, Thor Explore certainly has it all. Integrated underneath the Ice Class hull, a fully certified CAP 437 helideck can be stowed away while not in use, plus a large 'futuristic space that has never been seen before on a superyacht' as a tender garage.

Reportedly capable of holding a custom 12.5m (41') tender, a Triton Submersible with dedicated Hangar and L.A.R.S., a host of watersports equipment plus a diving decompression chamber, owners and their guests will never be short of water-based activities.

An elevated beach club offers yet another eyebrow raising key feature with direct access via a cylindrical corridor with aquariums on either side.

The capacious beach club opens up with a full height cylinder aquarium as its centrepiece, plus fold down balconies on either side.

Abundant seating continues the overall theme of natural curves with rounded seat arrangements and makes the most of the extensive 18m beam.

Overnight accommodation states a capacity of up to 36 guests, with the master cabin located forward on the upper deck.

Looking to feature panoramic views over the bow, the master cabin states the inclusion of two private bathrooms, an office plus a walk-in wardrobe.
