Turkish dayboat specialist Mazu Yachts has announced its move into the sphere of steel semi-displacement yachts with the first unit in a new semi-displacement series and its largest build to date.
The keel of its first 28m (92ft) 92 DS has been laid. She will set another first with her triple Volvo Penta IPS 1050 pod drives being the first time IPS propulsion has been installed on a steel-hulled yacht. Following her in the new series will be the 112 DS and 132 DS.
Red Yacht Design has penned both her interiors and exteriors. Her crossover style exteriors feature a raised pilothouse and a dramatic vertical bow, whilst her two-tone hull catches the eye. A large swim platform with fold-down bulwarks provides spacing for relaxing by the water, whilst there is also a beach club area with bar that can be arranged according to the Owners preference.
Inside, the main salon is illuminated by full-height windows and she can accommodate up to eight guests across an Owner’s suite, two twin guest cabins and a full-beam VIP suite. There is further lounging space and dining facilities on the fly deck.
“Once again, I think we’ve created something amazing that will shake up the marketplace,” says Halit Yukay, brand founder and head designer. “The interior volumes and full-height windows make you feel like you’re on a yacht that is at least 10 metres longer.”
The first 92 DS is set to be delivered to her Turkish Owner in the summer of 2022.
Mazu Yachts was established in 2011 and builds open and hard-top motor yachts and superyacht tenders at its yard in Yalova in Turkey. Its largest build to date is the 24.5m (82ft) Mazu Yachts 82, BARBAR, which was delivered last summer.
