Perini Navi Expands into Motor Yachts with New Line and Launch of M/Y Fantasy

In a significant move that broadens its legendary brand, The Italian Sea Group has officially announced the development of a new Perini Navi motor yacht line.

The announcement comes alongside the launch of Fantasy, a 58-meter motor yacht that marks a new chapter for Perini Navi’s identity beyond its iconic sailing yacht heritage.

The launch of motor yacht Fantasy, designed by world-renowned naval architect Philippe Briand, took place at The Italian Sea Group’s La Spezia shipyard. The fourth 58-meter motor yacht in this series, Fantasy features a steel and aluminum hull, a 9.8-meter beam, and a gross tonnage of 800 GT spread across three decks. The vessel accommodates six guest cabins and nine crew members, combining Briand’s signature sleek, fuel-efficient design with the refined elegance expected of Perini Navi.

This launch is part of a continuing collaboration between Perini Navi and Philippe Briand, whose previous motor yacht designs were all delivered under the Picchiotti brand. These include:

  • M/Y Exuma (now M/Y Falco Moscata) – A 50-meter explorer yacht, launched in 2010, designed for long-range cruising with a lightweight aluminum hull.
  • M/Y Galileo G – A 55.7-meter expedition yacht, delivered in 2011, built with an Ice Class 1B steel hull, making it capable of polar exploration.
  • M/Y Nautilus (formerly Grace E) – A 73-meter hybrid motor yacht, delivered in 2013, known for its diesel-electric propulsion and eco-conscious design.

Unlike these previous motor yachts, the newly announced Perini Navi motor yacht line will for the first time carry the Perini Navi brand name directly, rather than being marketed under Picchiotti.
