The Ultimate Hybrid Family Yacht: Azimut’s Seadeck 6 to Make American Debut at FLIBS 2024

The Seadeck 6 features a Mild Hybrid Zero Emission Hotel Mode, allowing for zero-emission anchoring and cruising without the generator, further minimizing onboard energy consumption.

Making its American debut at the upcoming Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, the Azimut Seadeck 6 is the first model in Azimut’s groundbreaking series of hybrid family motor yachts, seamlessly integrating advanced technology with family-friendly design.

Measuring 17.5m (57ft), the new yacht for sale can reduce CO2 emissions by up to 40% compared to traditional yachts of a similar size, thanks to clever design and onboard systems created to reduce energy absorption. Azimut achieves these impressive reductions by combining lightweight carbon fiber superstructures with a high-efficiency hull. Additionally, the Seadeck 6 features a Mild Hybrid Zero Emission Hotel Mode, which allows for zero-emission anchoring and cruising without the generator, further cutting down on onboard consumption.

The system is based on a mild hybrid 42kWh lithium battery pack and an alternator connected to one of three engines, allowing the yacht's systems, such as air conditioning and gyro stabilization (but not the propellers), to operate without a generator for up to eight hours at night and four hours during the day.

As an optional extra, the new Seadeck 6 can be equipped with 10 square meters of solar panels on the deckhouse, for a total power of 1,410Wp. The energy generated by these contributes to charging the onboard battery pack, further reducing emissions.

The exterior of the motor yacht features sleek, clean lines, crafted by Alberto Mancini, highlighting the open design of the aft cockpit and its seamless connection to the water. Moving inside, the boat's interiors by Matteo Thun & Antonio Rodriguez emphasize space, abundant natural light, and soft, natural materials. Neutral colors and open-pored materials are used throughout to create a serene and inviting atmosphere.

Sustainability is also key in the Seadeck 6’s design. The builder has replaced traditional materials with natural, recycled, and recyclable alternatives wherever possible. Cork substitutes for teak, and Econyl — regenerated nylon from fishing nets — adorns the lower deck carpets. Even the yacht's core materials get an eco-friendly makeover, with recycled PET replacing PVC in bulkheads.

The Fun Island aboard the Seadeck 6 features fold down balconies for additional space at anchor

The "Fun Island" concept, also envisioned by Alberto Mancini, reimagines the beach area with two lateral wings that open to create a spacious terrace over the sea. A high-low platform provides easy access to the water, and a large sunbed offers the perfect spot to relax. This innovative design encourages social interaction, making it the ultimate setting for family fun and relaxation.

Powered by triple Volvo Penta IPS pod drives (IPS500 or IPS650), the Seadeck 6 can reach an impressive top speed of 33 knots. The hull has also been engineered to plane at slower speeds, enhancing cruising efficiency.

In addition to the Seadeck 6 making its debut, Azimut will also be showcasing 19 other models, representing all of its ranges. This will include the Verve 48, the Grande 36M, and the Magellano 30M amongst others.
