W57 Speedster concept offers a fresh look at superyacht interiors

The 57m (187ft) concept is from Wayne Parker Design and features an unusual layout, aimed at allowing multiple areas to be used at the same time.

London-based Wayne Parker Design has presented its W57 Speedster superyacht, which seeks to reinvent the traditional superyacht interior layout.

The 57m (187ft) concept has been developed with a client in mind who wants to include multiple features and spaces, whilst at the same time allowing these spaces to be used simultaneously, without impacting on other areas.

Studio director and founder Wayne Park explains more: “We wanted to do something different with this interior,” he says. “Usually on the main deck you have the main saloon and dining area within the same space. With the Speedster, we have the dining area on the bridge deck so that you get better vistas out of the boat and it becomes a more relaxed and private experience for guests.”

“This in turn means that following dinner, kids can go and relax in the main saloon, watch a movie without disturbing the dining experience. Alongside this we have ensured crew flow is optimised, with work stations, preparation areas and so on given adequate space and arranged properly for optimum operation.”

The 950GT interior also offers accommodation for 12 guests in five staterooms, including a full-beam mastercabin, and features a gym, massage room, beach club, swimming pool and storage space for two 7.5m (24.6ft) tenders under the foredeck.

Elsewhere a sun deck includes a dining table with space for up to 12 guests, a jacuzzi and large sunbed area are found forward of the dining area and a large open main aft deck can be used as a dance floor or for activities such as yoga or workouts.

The W57 Speedster will have an approximate range of 4,500 nautical miles at the 13 knots cruising speed.

South-African born Wayne Parker has worked in the superyacht design industry for over 20 years, including spells with renowned studios Terence Disdale Design and Donald Starkey Designs. Significant superyacht projects he has been involved in include Blohm & Voss’ 162m (531.5ft) ECLIPSE, 146m (479ft) TOPAZ, built by Lurssen and the 115m (377ft) Lloyd Werft superyacht LUNA.

Whilst this is just a concept there is a wide range of superyachts currently on the market. If you are looking to make a purchase you can use YachtBuyer’s advanced search filters to explore all new and pre-owned superyachts for sale.
