Market Price Insight
YachtBuyer’s Market Watch reports that there are currently 3 Princess V42 yachts listed for sale globally, with prices spanning a wide range due to generational differences and features. First generation models (Mk1, 1999 - 2006) are the likely to be the most affordable, there are currently none for sale globally. In contrast, the newest third generation models (Mk3, 2009 - 2015) are listed between €308k and €324k, reflecting their advanced technology, more modern design, and newer construction. Second generation yachts (Mk2, 2006 - 2008) are likely to fall in the middle, there are currently none for sale globally. The arrival of the latest third generation models has influenced the pricing of earlier generations, as their updated styling, features and cutting-edge appeal shift buyer preferences, resulting in more competitive pricing for older models. Over the past three years, the Princess V42, across its three generations, has exhibited price trends shaped by market demand, vessel condition, and features. The first generation models spend the shortest time on the market, on average around 8 days, suggesting they remain appealing to a specific segment of buyers despite their older features but they don't tend to need to lower the price in order to sell. The third generation models have the longest average time on the market, sitting for about 43 days, suggesting lower demand, nostalgia for previous generations, or unpopular features but they don't tend to need to lower the price in order to sell.
Princess started development on the V42 in 1999. Seven years later, in 2006, the second generation was launched. The third and final generation Princess V42 went into production in 2009.
