On Deck

The hardtop boat's open-back design on the main deck adds to its appeal. The cockpit area has a large sun pad, a social seating area which can be reconfigured, and a wet bar with a top-loading fridge, BBQ, sink, and storage.

The helm position provides a great seating area with terrific visibility. This feature, combined with the sliding roof, contributes to a more enjoyable boating experience. He also points out the boat's air conditioning, a rare feature on boats of this size, making it ideal for trips to the Mediterranean.

The yacht's garage houses a Williams 285 Turbo Jet Tender, a considerable tender for a 42-foot boat, and an inflatable paddleboard.

Interior

Inside the yacht there is light oak woodwork with a high-gloss finish. The galley has a combination microwave and oven, gas hob, and fridge, as well as clever storage solutions for cutlery and plates. The dinette area is comfortable and can be transformed into an extra sleeping area.

In the master cabin, Nick highlights the ample storage spaces and the ensuite with its separate shower area. The second cabin also impresses him with its good headroom and the additional ensuite.

Performance

Showcased in the yacht's engine compartment are two Volvo Penta D6-370s, which give the boat a speed of over 30 knots and a range of around 200 miles. He notes the presence of a passerelle for stern-to berthing in the Mediterranean, a hot water tank, and a Cummins Onan generator.

In Summary

Throughout the video, Nick consistently praises the Princess V42 for its design, comfort, and functionality, making it clear that he finds this yacht highly appealing. His only slight criticism is that the Williams 285 Turbo Jet Tender is a bit of a squeeze in the garage, requiring slight deflation of the tubes to fit.
