On Deck

This flybridge boat has a low and sleek profile, which was found easy to access from the pontoon, and features a large hydraulic lowering bathing platform at the back.

Throughout the decks, there are broad, solid stairs, ample storage space, and practical design features such as a step-through to facilitate berthing. There are decent-sized side decks, high chunky rails, a foredeck sunbathing area, and good-quality deck gear.

The flybridge features a full glass cockpit, seating area, a retractable sunbathing area, and a dining table catered for by a barbecue and fridge unit. Nick was impressed by the clever design of the handle that also serves as a handrail when the fridge unit is fixed in place.

Nick was particularly pleased with the cockpit layout, admiring the handrails built into the table and the wide opening doors that seamlessly integrated the inside and outside areas.

Interior

The interiors feature high-quality stainless steel work and beautiful matte-finished woodwork. Nick was also impressed by the electric cooking appliances in the galley, two large domestic fridges, and champagne ice feature. There are further practical design elements such as glasses and crockery holders designed to prevent items from rattling at sea.

The living area offers a great view out of the large windows, and a TV that rises out of a cutout for evening entertainment. Llarge opening windows at the helm offer ventilation and a one-piece windscreen for an unobstructed view.

The guest cabin upfront features convertible scissor beds, ample storage, and an escape hatch for safety. Nick also admired the attention to detail in the woodwork and the large illuminated wardrobe. The guest cabin has access to the day heads, which also serve as an ensuite at night. The master cabin has a full-beam layout and an ensuite with a separate shower stall.

Nick was impressed by the boat's consistent quality, stating that despite being smaller and having fewer cabins than larger Princess yachts, it did not lack in terms of quality of woodwork and fittings. The master cabin also boasts a full-sized washer/dryer.

Performance

The engine room houses Volvo Penta IPS-600 pod drives, which provide excellent maneuverability and easy joystick control. Nick observed how the engine room mirrored the layout of larger, more expensive Princess yachts, praising the neat organization of the air conditioning units, generator, and battery boxes.

In Summary

Overall, Nick was highly impressed with the Princess 45 yacht, praising its design, attention to detail, and the quality of fittings and woodwork. While he enjoys touring larger, more expensive yachts, he found this model to be superb in what it offers.
