Back 9 And a Half is a 36.45m motor yacht delivered by Italian shipyard ISA in 2017. The yacht's refined interiors have been crafted by Cristiano Gatto Design, while her exteriors have been penned by Andrea Vallicelli.

Design & Construction

Designed around a planing GRP hull and superstructure she features a 7.4m beam and a 1.3m draft. The yacht is built over 2 decks with an internal volume of 235 GT (Gross Tonnes).

This was the eleventh yacht built on the Sport 120 design. Launched in July 2017 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in August 2017.

Exterior Design

The exterior design of the yacht Back 9 And a Half is characterized by clean lines and balanced proportions that contribute to its sleek appearance. This vessel maintains a contemporary look, which has been updated by the renowned designer Enrico Gobbi. The yacht draws inspiration from natural shapes and incorporates elements like a luxury sports car and has a raised pilot house.  The focus on outdoor comfort is evident with spacious sun pads and a Jacuzzi on the sun deck, providing ample space for relaxation.

Interior Design

The main saloon features an L-shaped leather sofa from Poltrona Frau, providing ample seating for relaxation and socializing. The furniture throughout the interior is crafted from oak, with striped white finishes from the Piero Lissoni-designed collection for Alpi, complemented by darker oak frames and floors for contrast.

Lighting is a key component of the design, utilizing a combination of natural light and rich LED accents. Diffused indirect lighting is employed to highlight the design and create distinct lighting scenes. This approach is particularly effective in enhancing the mood of the guest areas, where light subtly illuminates the spaces.

The galley, though compact, is practical and efficiently designed for the crew's use. The dining area on the main deck is adaptable, allowing the space to open up to the elements when weather conditions are favorable. This area is equipped with a round dining table and comfortable armchairs, surrounded by glass windows that can be opened for an indoor-outdoor experience.

In the helm, functionality is paramount, with all controls and systems accessible via iPads. This integration extends to the rest of the yacht's systems, including lighting, music, video-on-demand, curtains, and air conditioning, allowing for ease of operation and convenience.

Stainless steel details and lacquered ceilings add to the overall design, ensuring that each element serves a purpose while contributing to the yacht's cohesive and understated style. The use of dark brown leather from Mastrotto’s Testa di Moro collection as an accent further enhances the interior's aesthetic, adding a touch of warmth to the space.

Accommodation

The yacht Back 9 And a Half offers comprehensive accommodation arrangements for up to 10 guests in 5 suites comprising an owners cabin located on the main deck, 2 double cabins and 2 twin cabins. The owner's suite is located at the bow of the main deck and features a two-level design. This suite includes an ensuite bathroom and a wardrobe, providing ample space and privacy for the owner.

Below deck, the yacht accommodates additional guests in four double staterooms. Two of these feature double beds, while the other two are configured with twin beds. All guest cabins come with ensuite bathrooms, ensuring convenience and privacy for all guests aboard.

For the crew of up to six, there is a dedicated area that is well-separated from the guest accommodations by a solid and well-insulated bulkhead. The crew area is functional and includes a small galley, ensuring that the crew can operate efficiently and comfortably while providing top-notch service to guests.

Performance & Capabilities

Powered by 3 x diesel MTU (16V2000 M93) 16-cylinder 2,399hp engines, motor yacht Back 9 And a Half is capable of reaching a top speed of 31 knots, and comfortably cruises at 24 knots. With her 22,000 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 633 nautical miles at 24 knots. Her planing hull design means she is fast and efficient as she slices through the water.
