Design & Construction

Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 9.89m beam and a 2.75m draft. The yacht has an internal volume of 708 GT (Gross Tonnes).

Exterior Design

The exterior design of Gallant Lady exhibits a straightforward elegance. The yacht features a raked bow, contributing to its streamlined profile. The deck is crafted from high-quality teak, ensuring durability and a classic appearance. The hull and superstructure are both painted white, creating a cohesive and clean look. The boot top is highlighted in red, adding a subtle touch of color to the overall design. The antifoul coating is also white, maintaining the yacht's uniform aesthetic.

Gallant Lady's superstructure is full width, avoiding a slab-sided look through the use of considerable tumblehome and three tall vertical windows. This design choice, executed by naval architects Frits de Voogt International Ship Design, adds complexity to the shape, creating a visually appealing silhouette. The yacht's design also incorporates a practical side deck passage on one side only, offsetting the main deck accommodation plan to starboard, while maintaining a symmetrical appearance from the outside.

Three tiers of vertical windscreens dominate the yacht's exterior, providing improved interior space and visibility. The limited exposed deck space aligns with the yacht's intended use in climates where shade and air conditioning are crucial. The tender is stored in a shallow garage beneath the aft deck, emerging through a door in the port hullside to keep the deck space unobstructed.

The upper deck features a spacious owner's suite with private deck space, ensuring complete privacy. Additional wings on the port and starboard sides offer extra viewpoints for guests. The exterior design prioritizes functionality and practical aesthetics, ensuring that Gallant Lady meets the specific needs of her owner while maintaining a sleek and purposeful appearance.

Interior Design

Upon entering the yacht, guests are greeted by a marble-and-granite-floored lobby, which serves as an atrium that rises through the deck above to the height of the triple vertical windows. The decorative style is consistent throughout the yacht, featuring anagre and lacewood woodwork with panels outlined by narrow lines of recessed bronze mirrors, providing a light and sparkling effect.

The main saloon, accessed through double doors from the lobby, is divided into two areas by a large buffet containing a television. Both sides of the saloon offer comfortable seating areas with silk sofas and armchairs. A Yamaha grand piano is situated on the starboard side, while a semicircular bar backed by mirrors is located at the forward end, ready to serve cocktails and soft drinks. The aft end of the saloon opens onto the aft deck lounge through gracious, pillared semicircular electric doors.

The dining room, found forward of the lobby, is notable for its panoramic view. Windows separated by banded lacewood and bronze mirrored pillars extend 180 degrees around the room. The dining table, octagonal in shape, is surfaced with dried exotic plant leaves set in a high-gloss finish, accommodating 14 diners. The room is raised 1.5 meters above the main deck level for an unobstructed view.

The main galley and adjoining pantry, featuring cherry wood appointments, are located aft of the dining room on the port side. These areas include a separate lobby with stairs leading down to the crew accommodation and a door to the hidden side deck.

The club lounge is lined with hand-rubbed sapele and pomele mahogany wood. This space offers an array of comfortable chairs and small tables, allowing guests to relax and enjoy the view. Outside the club lounge, additional port and starboard wings provide space for guests to take in the scenery.

The pilot house, designed to accommodate guests, features a curved leather settee and tables, allowing up to eight guests to observe without obstructing the crew's vision. The control console is compact and efficient, equipped with twin Recaro helm seats and paneled in anagre and lacewood.

Accommodation

Gallant Lady offers accommodation for up to 10 guests in 5 suites. The guest accommodation is located on the lower deck and comprises four large staterooms—two kings and two twins—each equipped with an entertainment center, refrigerator, bureau, and seating area. All staterooms feature well-appointed shower rooms, ensuring a uniform level of comfort and amenities for all guests.

The upper deck is home to the owner's suite, a standout feature of the Gallant Lady. This suite includes a generously-sized aft-facing bedroom with a king-sized bed that offers horizon-to-horizon views and access to a large, shaded private deck. The suite's design ensures complete privacy, with no side decks and no visibility from other parts of the yacht. The owner's bathroom is particularly noteworthy, featuring a pentagonal spa bath with gold-plated fittings, a built-in waterfall, and illuminated pillars. Additionally, the bathroom includes a private pantry and a small sitting area with exterior views through the full-length windows.

Crew accommodation on the Gallant Lady is thoughtfully designed to support a live-aboard crew of 11. The crew quarters, finished in cherry wood, are located on the lower deck forward of the engine room and consist of five en-suite twin cabins and a spacious mess deck. The captain’s cabin is traditionally positioned aft of the pilot house. This comprehensive layout ensures that the crew can maintain high standards of service and comfort for all guests on board.
