Design & Construction
Designed around a planing GRP hull and superstructure she features a 6.81m beam and a 2.29m draft. The yacht is built over 2 decks with an internal volume of 170 GT (Gross Tonnes).
This was the third yacht built on the Ferretti 1000 design.
Exterior Design
At the bow, the foredeck boasts a recessed sun pad area, complete with steps leading down to a built-in seating arrangement. Here, guests can enjoy private relaxation while anchored, complemented by adjustable dinette tables for versatile use. The anchor windlasses are neatly installed on the foredeck, with adjacent hatches providing access to the chain lockers and additional storage.
Moving aft, the side decks of Gladius offer unobstructed passage along both port and starboard sides, leading to the aft deck. The substantial teak swim platform, which features a hydraulic lift system, serves as a convenient boarding point, complemented by a passarelle for ease of access. This area also includes a generously sized aft-facing lounge built on top of the powered tender garage door, providing an additional space for relaxation and socializing.
The aft deck itself is home to a large articulating teak dining table surrounded by bench-style seating, offering guests panoramic views in a social setting. Port and starboard stairs grant access to the flybridge, with a docking station located beneath the port side for added convenience.
Ascending to the flybridge, guests are greeted with an expansive open deck, furnished with loose lounge chairs for flexible seating arrangements. To starboard, a fully equipped wet bar with refrigeration, ice maker, and sink facilitates on-deck entertainment, while a flat-screen television on a powered lift adds to the leisure options. A sizable seating area to port features a teak dining table capable of accommodating ten guests, making it ideal for al fresco dining or gatherings.
The flybridge helm is strategically positioned to starboard, equipped with two helm seats and a complement of critical engine controls and navigation electronics, allowing for precise operation of the vessel. Additional seating for guests is provided to port, enhancing the communal experience while under way.
Gladius' flybridge is crowned with a fiberglass hardtop, incorporating a powered sunroof with louvers for adjustable sunlight exposure. The hardtop also supports necessary equipment such as satellite domes, ship's horn, light mast, open radar array, and various communication antennas, all integrated with attention to both functionality and aesthetic appeal.
The yacht's exterior design is completed with practical details such as the engine room access, located up the starboard side deck or through a centerline deck hatch on the aft deck, ensuring easy maintenance and serviceability.
Interior Design
The salon boasts a large "L" shaped sofa to port paired with a coffee table, facilitating effortless social interactions. Opposite the seating arrangement, the entertainment system is neatly housed within the starboard locker, ensuring easy access while maintaining a decluttered aesthetic.
Illumination within the salon is predominantly natural, thanks to expansive windows that envelop the space. This is complemented by strategic lighting fixtures that provide a warm and inviting ambiance during the evening hours. The transition from the salon to the dining area is fluid, characterized by a stone table flanked by designer chairs. This dining setup provides a sophisticated yet practical venue for formal meals.
The galley, located forward of the dining area, is equipped with state-of-the-art appliances, all maintained in peak condition. Stone countertops offer generous workspaces, while the surrounding lockers and drawers provide ample storage. The galley can be secluded from the salon and dining area by a powered partition, allowing for privacy and containment of culinary activities when desired.
The pilothouse is a central hub for navigation and command. Accessible via the sliding door at the flybridge or stairways on the main aft deck, it features a single, powered helm seat positioned at the forward centerline for optimal control and visibility. Gladius features a suite of navigation equipment, including SIMRAD autopilot, radar, and GPS. Adjacent to the helm station, a raised dinette with a table offers additional space for planning or casual dining, with storage options readily available.
Accommodation
Gladius offers generous accommodation for 10 guests, with a layout comprising five guest staterooms. Each stateroom is designed to provide a peaceful and private retreat for the occupants.
The Master Stateroom is a highlight, located on the main deck and offering a walk-in closet and a seating area. The king-sized bed is the centerpiece, flanked by built-in cabinetry and a vanity desk. A full-beam bathroom with dual sinks, a private toilet stall, and a shower completes this stateroom.
Below deck, four additional guest staterooms await. Two forward staterooms come with two single berths, convertible into a king bed, providing flexible arrangements for guests. Each of these staterooms features en-suite facilities, ensuring convenience and privacy.
Similarly, the two aft staterooms feature king berths, providing ample space for a restful night's sleep. These staterooms also come complete with their own private en-suite bathrooms, including beautifully appointed stall showers.
The crew quarters for up to five are located in the bow, separate from the guest areas to ensure privacy for all aboard. These quarters are accessible via a stairwell forward of the galley. The captain enjoys a private cabin with a single berth, head, and shower stall. Two additional cabins are available for the crew, each furnished with upper and lower bunks and sufficient storage lockers.
Performance & Capabilities
Powered by twin diesel MTU (16V 2000 M96L) 16-cylinder 2,600hp engines running at 2450rpm, motor yacht Gladius is capable of reaching a top speed of 27 knots, and comfortably cruises at 24 knots.
To enhance onboard comfort, especially in rough seas, Gladius is fitted with advanced stabilizer systems. These include 2x Side-Power SPS 92B fin stabilizers and 2x Seakeeper Gyroscopic (SK9000) stabilizers. These systems work to reduce the rolling motion of the yacht, providing a more stable and comfortable experience for guests and crew alike.
Gladius is equipped with two Kohler 32kW generators, ensuring a consistent and reliable power supply for all onboard systems and amenities. The Searecovery Aquamatic 1400 watermaker, capable of producing 1400 gallons per day, provides an ample supply of fresh water, enhancing the yacht's self-sufficiency and capability for prolonged trips at sea.
