Design & Construction

Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminum superstructure Tatoosh features a 14.95m (49.1ft) beam and a 5.16m (16.1ft) draft. The yacht is built over five decks with an internal volume of 3,229 GT (Gross Tonnes). The design also incorporates two helipads.

Construction started in late 1997. The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards. Launched in July 1998 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in June 2000.

Exterior Design

Tatoosh is made for extended global navigation, having traversed every ocean and boasting the ability to remain at sea for up to 30 days without resupply. Safety is paramount; the 66mm triple laminated glass windows are bulletproof, eliminating the need for storm window shutters and ensuring the vessel's resilience in diverse weather conditions.

The design of Tatoosh ensures that the private owner's deck is an exclusive retreat with optimal visibility and a personal galley. The outdoor areas are thoughtfully sheltered with all-weather awnings and elevated above the foredeck for privacy and uninterrupted views.

On the main deck aft, the design emphasizes entertainment and relaxation. The area is arranged around a substantial 5x4m heated swimming pool with a Contraflow system, which can be converted into a dance floor when covered. The surrounding space is well-appointed, shielded by glass windscreens, and provides access to the swim platform and beach club.

Tatoosh is designed with a focus on performance, reliability, and guest comfort, ensuring that each journey is as enjoyable as the destination itself.

Interior Design

In the main salon, guests are greeted with Versailles parquet flooring that provides a traditional touch, complemented by limed oak paneling which adds to the room's light and airy feel. A working fireplace, carved in French limestone, anchors the space as a focal point for social gatherings or tranquil solitude.

The studio lounge showcases the work of the yacht's in-house design team. This area has been carefully adorned to foster a welcoming atmosphere for relaxation or entertainment. Here, the outside dining area can accommodate up to 14 guests, with sliding doors that allow for transition between the interior and exterior spaces. This versatile feature also enables the area to be transformed into an open-air cinema.

Within the heart of Tatoosh, the main foyer stands out with its well-thought-out proportions and an impressive world globe that immediately catches the eye. This space serves as the primary entry point for guests and sets the tone for the sophisticated interior that unfolds throughout the yacht.

The dining room, designed for formal occasions, seats 12 and opens off from the main foyer. The placement of windows in this space has been carefully considered to align with the center of the dining table, ensuring a well-lit environment that enhances the dining experience.

Attention to detail is further evident in the state-of-the-art cinema room, which can host 11 guests in an ambiance of red velvet. The integration of modern technology is a highlight here, with the Yacht Cloud's Omnion platform controlled by iPads for a fully immersive audio-visual experience.

The vessel's bridge deck, primarily a space of operational significance, is also accessible to guests, integrating functionality with the overall guest experience. It houses the captain's suite, first officer's cabin, radio room, and a wheelhouse equipped with Raytheon technology that provides panoramic views and incorporates guest seating.

Accommodation

Accommodating up to 19 guests, Tatoosh ensures a comfortable and luxurious stay for all on board. The yacht features an array of guest suites designed to provide privacy and tranquility. Each of the six large guest suites located on the cabin deck is complete with an en-suite bathroom, promising personal space and comfort for guests. The interiors, characterized by an intelligent use of space and a contemporary elegance, reflect a dedication to the well-being of those aboard.

The centerpiece of the guest accommodation is the full-beam master suite, which is a testament to Tatoosh's commitment to excellence in design and guest experience. The master suite is divided into three distinct areas, offering a harmonious blend of functionality and privacy. On the starboard side, there is a salon equipped with comfortable seating and a television, providing a secluded space for relaxation. The port side features an office, allowing for productivity or quiet reflection. In between, port and starboard dressing rooms lead to a spacious forward bathroom, completing the master suite's comprehensive amenities.

Noise reduction is paramount to ensuring the serenity of the guest experience aboard Tatoosh. Remarkably, the master stateroom recorded a noise level of just 38 dBA while cruising, akin to the hush of a quiet library, highlighting the yacht's design focus on acoustic comfort.

For larger parties, two VIP staterooms are available for family members, ensuring they are catered to with the utmost regard for their comfort and privacy. The area dedicated to these VIP staterooms can be closed off, ensuring an exclusive and undisturbed environment.

Crew accommodation aboard Tatoosh adheres to the highest standards, ensuring that the service provided is as exceptional as the environment in which guests reside. The 32 professional crew is housed in well-appointed quarters, allowing them to maintain the high level of service expected on such a vessel.

Performance & Capabilities

Powered by twin diesel Deutz (SBV 16M 628) 16-cylinder 4,350hp engines running at 1000rpm, motor yacht Tatoosh is capable of reaching a top speed of 19 knots, and comfortably cruises at 15 knots. With her 457,000 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 5,758 nautical miles at 14 knots. She has been fitted with stabilizers to increase on-board comfort when the yacht is at anchor, particularly in rough waters.

To support the yacht's electrical systems, there are three Deutz generators, each with a capacity of 750kW. These generators are essential for maintaining the operation of onboard amenities and ensuring that guest comfort is sustained throughout the voyage.

Wellness

Tatoosh offers a multitude of relaxation and entertainment options, including a spa, gym, beach club with a jacuzzi, a bar, a sauna, and a dive center with a sea terrace.

Tatoosh is equipped with a comprehensive dive center. The center features an industrial-grade Bauer compressor and a fill station capable of refilling four tanks simultaneously. For deeper dives, a dedicated nitrox refilling station is also available. The dive center is strategically situated around the beach club, creating a connection with a dedicated dive lobby through a shell door on the starboard quarter. This area also includes a hot tub, sauna, and an expansive bar, ensuring a comfortable and entertaining space for diving enthusiasts and guests alike.

Amenities

Ensuring ease of transfers, Tatoosh is equipped with helicopter access. The main helipad, positioned high up aft on the bridge deck, features a bunkering station with tanks of 7,000 liters, providing ample fuel for extended flights. To facilitate landings in challenging weather conditions, it incorporates a harpoon grid. Additionally, there's a touch-and-go helipad on the deck above, slightly forward, enhancing flexibility in helicopter operations.

Tenders

The yacht boasts an impressive fleet of five tenders, including a custom 12m (39.3ft) Hinckley Talaria tender called Chase, and a 12.4m (40.6ft) Germán Frers-designed daysailer called Julia, ensuring a variety of transportation options for different preferences and occasions. The Hinckley achieves over 30 knots with twin 420hp diesel engines powering Hamilton jet drives.
