Nobiskrug upgrades sister shipyard Lindenau

The German yard has a 165m (541.5’) floating dock and will receive its first new-build project at the end of October.

German shipyard Nobiskrug is upgrading its sister shipyard, Lindenau, ahead of a new, large-scale build that’s starting this month.

Work on the yard, situated near the entrance of the Kiel Canal, began in March. It’s 28 miles from Nobiskrug and takes up more than 70,000 sq. m (753,000 sq. ft). The space is largely for production yacht repairs and servicing, relying on a 165m (541.5’) floating dock and a 480m (1,575’) outfitting dock.

Sailing Yacht A is the most infamous creation of Nobiskrug.

The upgraded Lindendau yard will reopen at the end of the month as it continues construction on an as-yet-unknown superyacht.

Nobiskrug is best known for building large, extravagant and custom-built superyachts. Its most famous is ‘Sailing Yacht A’, a 142m (466’) ‘sail-assisted motor yacht’ that’s among the biggest in the world.
