18th hull of Horizon’s popular FD87 series launched

The latest hull is destined for Australia and features a five-stateroom layout and a touch-and-go helipad.

Taiwanese yard Horizon Yachts has launched the 18th hull of its popular FD87 series, which features a limited edition design specially created for the Australian market.

The FD87 is the most popular model in Horizon’s FD Series, a line that has seen record sales in the last four years, and the 18th hull comes complete with a five stateroom layout with a beach garage and a touch-and-go helipad. Cor D. Rover are once again responsible for both the exterior styling and a custom-designed interior.

The FD87 is available in Open or Skyline bridge configurations, and the latest hull falls into the latter category, featuring a semi-enclosed skylounge and a newly designed microbridge. This affords more exterior space, with an indoor/outdoor entertaining area and tender storage aft.

The motor yacht sports an on-deck master with a full-beam his-and-her ensuite, with four ensuite guest rooms on the lower deck. These include two queen-size VIPs amidships, a convertible twin to port and a queen-sized VIP in the bow.

Other highlights include a large main salon with a handmade designer chandelier, plenty of al fresco dining areas and a heated jacuzzi and large sunpad area on the foredeck. Twin 1,600hp CAT C32A diesel engines give a top speed of 20 knots and a cruising speed of 10 knots.

The latest FD87 model is set to make its debut in Australia later this month.
