Optima Yachts, a builder of electric boats, is set to make its debut at the Southampton Boat Show with the unveiling of the e10 prototype, a sustainable boat with an efficient, low-resistance hull designed for quiet, all-day cruising powered entirely by batteries.
With a notable range of 150nm, the e10 promises to deliver both comfort and performance without compromising on eco-friendly principles.
In addition to the e10, Optima Yachts will also introduce the Optima e14, a 14m (46ft) yacht combining advanced electric propulsion with a luxurious design. The e14 is also engineered to deliver a 150-nautical-mile range, addressing range concerns while ensuring a smooth, quiet journey. Onboard, the yacht boasts modern amenities, including induction hobs, electric ovens, spacious dining areas, and ample refrigeration — all powered by the yacht’s integrated electrical systems.
The e14's construction utilizes lightweight FRP structures reinforced with natural materials like flax fibers and bio-resins, alongside recycled components. The yacht also features integrated solar panels and supports charging via marina infrastructure or fast DC chargers, enabling extended, environmentally-conscious cruising.
Following the Southampton Boat Show, Optima Yachts will present its electric range at the Monaco Yacht Show, as part of the British Marine Superyacht UK stand.
