Beneteau Unveils Redesigned Gran Turismo Models Focused on Sport-Lux Living

Beneteau has announced a major revamp of its popular Gran Turismo range, introducing a new generation of "Crossover Express Cruisers" designed to better meet the evolving expectations of modern boaters.

Over the next six months, the French shipyard will reveal three refreshed models: the Gran Turismo 35, Gran Turismo 40, and Gran Turismo 50. They will be revealed this September at the Cannes Yachting Festival

The new range offers a more luxurious and versatile experience on the water, built around high-end materials, cutting-edge connectivity, and opportunities for personalisation. Beneteau has also partnered once again with Alpine, the high-end sports brand, to create exclusive limited-edition versions across the new Gran Turismo line.

A Return to Express Cruiser Roots

The redesign of the Gran Turismo line presented Beneteau with the opportunity to revisit the spirit that first defined its popular express cruisers. The original models were produced between 2014 and 2021 and helped establish Beneteau’s reputation in this segment.

The original Beneteau Gran Turismo 35 (2014-2016) featured a sleek planing hull, one cabin, and space for four guests, with a focus on outdoor living, including a large swim platform and generous sunbathing areas. The Beneteau Gran Turismo 40 (2015-2021) added a second cabin, more internal volume, an open cockpit with a large sunroof, and a transom wet bar to enhance social space.

At the top of the range, the Beneteau Gran Turismo 50 (2017-2021) introduced greater luxury with two or three cabins, a full-beam owner’s suite, Beneteau’s Ship Control system, a hydraulic swim platform, and a tender garage.

Listening closely to customer feedback, Beneteau embraced a simpler, more elegant approach to the design, ensuring the new Gran Turismo models deliver both style and function without unnecessary complication.

Elevated Design Focused on Lifestyle

At the heart of the upgraded Gran Turismo models is a vision of "villa living" afloat - a space designed for relaxation, connection, and enjoyment. A 30% increase in exterior deck space significantly enhances the on-board experience, creating seamless transitions between sun-soaked outdoor areas, social zones, and the surrounding water.

Designed with the consumer at its heart, the new range embodies our vision of ‘Sport-Lux’, providing open spaces with a premium feeling. The all new Gran Turismo range represents the ultimate crossover express cruiser”.

Inside and out, the yachts have been carefully crafted with a minimalist, flowing aesthetic, drawing inspiration from Japanese design principles such as Kanso (simplicity) and Yūgen (gracefulness). The result is a clean, powerful silhouette, with subtle design details that play with light and shadow to create a sense of calm and understated elegance.

A Sports-Car Spirit

True to their name, these Gran Turismo boats have been engineered to deliver a sports-car-like driving experience. Offering responsive handling, long-range cruising comfort, and excellent protection at the helm, the new boats channel the spirit of the classic GT cars of the 1960s - built to cover serious distances in style.

On board, solar panels and lithium battery systems allow owners to enjoy life at anchor quietly and sustainably, powering water toys, electric dinghies, and other amenities without the constant hum of generators. All models will also feature advanced gyro stabilisation systems to maximise comfort on the move and at rest.

The Current Gran Turismo Line-Up

Alongside the launch of the upgraded models, several Gran Turismo yachts remain in production, offering a broad choice for different styles of cruising.

At the entry point to the range, the Beneteau Gran Turismo 32 delivers a versatile and lively experience, combining the open-air spirit of a day boat with the comfort of an express cruiser. With two cabins and seating for four, it is designed to maximise space and light, offering a bright, sociable cockpit layout and the practicality of direct access to the foredeck.

Stepping up to the Beneteau Gran Turismo 36, owners find a noticeable increase in volume and functionality. Retaining two cabins, the 36 introduces a more refined cockpit arrangement, beach-club style aft layout, and enhanced stability features such as zipwakes for improved handling - making it ideal for families and extended weekending.

The Beneteau Gran Turismo 45 offers a significant shift in size and specification. With two or three cabin layouts available, this model adds luxury finishes, a vast U-shaped cockpit, and Beneteau’s Air Step hull technology for enhanced performance and fuel efficiency. Sliding side windows and a large sunroof maintain a strong connection to the outdoors, while the interior feels bright and open thanks to large hull windows and clever detailing.
