Codecasa creates ‘50s nostalgia with newly unveiled Gentleman’s Yacht

The 25.5m (83.5ft) yacht was penned by Luca Dini and combines ‘50s style with modern cruising capabilities.

Italian shipyard Codecasa has revealed the ‘50s-inspired Gentleman’s Yacht. Styled by Luca Dini Design & Architecture, only ten hulls of this exclusive model will ever be made.

“There are projects commissioned by yacht owners, projects commissioned by shipyards and then there are projects that are born from a particular inspiration. Unique. This is one of those projects,” comments Luca Dini.

“The idea was to transform a piece of nautical history into something exclusive. Yachts from the ‘50s immediately take me back to when I was a child.”

The family-orientated yacht is the spiritual companion to Codecasa’s Vintage superyacht series, condensing the range’s olden-style class into a “less demanding and more manageable” 90 GRT boat.

The interior can comfortably accommodate six guests in four cabins and has provisions for a crew of two. It was carefully designed to keep the wheelhouse and galley separate from guest areas, promising total privacy and intimacy.

Those buying the yacht can choose between a more understated interior – using wooden finishes and gorgeous whites with touches of chocolate-coloured leather and navy blue fabrics – or a more modern scheme that contrasts with the exterior design.

Outside, the Gentleman’s Yacht is constructed entirely out of aluminium, with glossy wooden surfaces and steel finishes added for a sophisticated throwback.

Codecasa claims the beach club is something “never seen before on a yacht of this size,” as the sizeable living space is connected seamlessly to the sundeck via sliding glass doors.

The area is opened up by the custom-made tender being situated on the main deck, where it can be easily moved into the water by a concealable crane.

The yacht’s top speed is 25 knots, with a cruising speed of 20 knots. At an economical 9 knots, it has a range of more than 2,100 nautical miles.

The first Gentleman’s Yacht hull will soon be entering construction. You can get something similarly gorgeous and comfortable right now by browsing new and used superyachts available for sale.
