Damen Yachting has celebrated the keel-laying of its SeaXplorer 60, as the build of the 60m (196.85ft) explorer yacht begins to take shape.
The Dutch yard announced the 1,160GT superyacht last September, calling it “the only luxury explorer yacht available in her class”. Damen’s Netherlands-based design team joined its production team in Antalya to witness the milestone in the project, which is expected to be delivered in 2024.
SeaXplorer Design Manager, Enrique Tintore, expressed his excitement at the event: “The SeaXplorer 60 will be our fourth SeaXplorer build. It’s very exciting to be here, after all the months of detailed engineering, to see the SeaXplorer 60 beginning to take shape. It’s a fantastic layout with a lot of flexibility – she is really a yacht for all seasons.”
The SeaXplorer 60 features exterior design by Azure Yacht Design and interiors by H2 Yacht Design. Her impressive explorer capabilities are demonstrated by an Ice Class hull for global voyaging, a fully certified helideck that doubles up as a party deck or basketball half-court, space for a range of tenders up to 10.5m (34.5ft) in length and hybrid power and propulsion.
The yacht can accommodate 12 guests across its six cabins and her stores and tanks allow for up to 30 days of autonomous and safe operations in isolation without port call. When it comes to outdoor space there is around 195 square meters (3,000 sq. ft) available that can be flexibly configured to include a luxury cabana lounge and bar, dive deck, fitness and wellness zone or ski lodge.

Damen Yachting’s SeaXplorer range is a series of purpose-built, long-range explorer yachts. The first SeaXplorer, 62m (203.4ft) ANAWA was handed to her Owners in the summer of 2020, with 77m (252.6ft) ‘La Datcha’ delivered a few months later in November 2020. A custom 58m (190ft) SeaXplorer is set to be delivered to her Owner later this year.
