Genoa Boat Show Reports Record Numbers

As the Monaco Yacht Show opens, the 64th Genoa International Boat Show comes to a close.

Notably, the format for sea trials has seen a significant rise, with 3,855 tests conducted during the Boat Show, marking a 24% increase from the previous year. Yacht buyers were keen to test the wide variety of boats for sale at the show.

More than 100 new products were unveiled, along with 30 premieres, 125 conferences and workshops, 1,154 accredited journalists (a 1.58% increase compared to 2023), and 2,416 articles published during the event days alone, reflecting a 5.3% rise from the previous edition.

The Genoa International Boat Show continues to serve as a crucial platform for the yachting industry’s interaction with government and public institutions. This year’s edition saw the approval of the regulatory framework for the Italian Boating Code, which provides comprehensive support for all types of vessels, from small boats to larger yachts. The framework also includes measures like reduced bureaucracy for Italian-flagged vessels, updated safety equipment regulations, and the introduction of a new boating license for 16-year-olds.

Additionally, the new Professional Chartering Title was introduced, and the Italian Customs and Monopolies Agency announced a technical round table to facilitate the transition from national to EU regulations.
