Unveiled during the show's diamond anniversary edition, the Italian brand used the exciting event to reveal their iconic new addition.
Dedicated to the namesake island in the Bahamas, Abaco has been a special act of remembrance and respect for those affected by the recent Hurricane Dorian. Officials at the shipyard have also declared that a percentage of the sale from the first hull of the model will be donated to the efforts being made to reconstruct life on the affected island.
Keeping in the same area, the design for the new 40 metre vessel includes a shallow draft, which means she can access coastlines that larger vessels can't get close to in the Bahamas.
In addition to the capability to get up close to the shallow shores of islands around the Bahamas, Abaco also has storage for a six metre tender plus a host of fast paced water toys to make the most of the crystal clear waters.
Boasting a robust and contemporary exterior, Abaco has a spacious beach club which is seamlessly joined with main aft deck. With a sheltered al fresco seating area, guests can opt to enjoy the warm sun by relaxing in the luxurious on deck infinity pool or on one of the sunloungers. Thanks to some full length glass sliding doors, the sheltered area can also be transformed in to a 16 person al fresco dining option, including a winter garden with a fully equipped bar and lounge.
The sliding door concept is repeated up on the bridge deck aft of the salon so guests can make the most of the views with an extra al fresco dining and relaxation option.
Interiors for the vessel replicate the style and comforts found throughout the Bahamas, including straw and raffia materials plus energy infused colours like teak to provide Bahamian hints throughout the vessel.
Overnight accommodation for staying guests can accommodate up to 10 guests at a time in a collection of five cabins. The owner's cabin is indulgent and spacious with private office amenities and his and hers en suite bathrooms. A further four generous guest cabins are located on the lower deck alongside the mess and quarters for crew.
Preliminary expectations are that the 40 metre vessel will be powered by a pair of CAT C32 ACERT D engines which will enable a top speed of 17.5 knots with cruising at 12 knots.
