Rosetti reveals Project Orca superyacht inspired by underwater mammal

Italian shipyard Rosetti has revealed its latest superyacht concept known as Project Orca.

Measuring up at 65 metres, luxury yacht Project Orca is a collaborative design between the in house team at Rosetti Superyachts and Meccano Engineering.

With design credits for the naval architecture, engineering and exteriors of the new superyacht, Meccano Engineering has drawn inspiration from the natural world to create a vessel which closely resembles the killer whale that the superyacht is named after.

Along with appearance characteristics shared with the large underwater mammals, the vessel is also constructed to smoothly transit through all waters while travelling through the tropics or minus temperatures through the Arctic.

We have already done the concept engineering and completed the technical specifications for Project Orca, and if we sell the boat tomorrow and want to make a start on it, we can begin construction.

Powered by a pair of CAT 3512 1398kW engines, superyacht Project Orca can reach a standard range of 5,000 nautical miles while travelling at 12 knots, with a possibility to advance to an impressive 7,000 nautical miles.

Panning over four decks, there is a choice of several different customisable layouts to meet specific requirements. An internal volume of around 1,300 GT and wrap-around glazing offers a generous amount of space to play with, plus an abundance of natural light to make the most of the indulgent onboard experience.

The stern area of Project Orca is a flexible space which can have different uses. In addition to the fully certified touch and go helipad, there can be space on deck to store a selection of adventure toys such as snowmobiles or jet skis, or alternatively a central infinity pool can be installed to make the most of the stunning surrounding views.

Another customisable space in the aft lower deck area is a beach club which can also be a storage facility for a couple of tenders or water toys.
