Mangusta officially launches “new chapter in history” with 104 REV

Mangusta has officially launched the first model in its new series of Mangusta REV yachts, the 104 REV, which preserves the Mangusta DNA, but reinterprets it in a modern style.

Mangusta has ushered in a new era of yachts with the first model in its new series of Mangusta REV vessels being launched in Viareggio.

A collaboration between Mangusta’s Engineering Department and designer Igor Lobanov, the 31.8m (104ft) Mangusta 104 REV features restyled exterior lines and a different way of interpreting the interiors, with wide glass surfaces integrated into her aggressive profile.

She is the entry-level yacht in Mangusta’s hugely popular Maxi Open range, with the yard building over 300 yachts from the range in the past 25 years. The 104 REV represents the first launch from the line that was officially unveiled in an online presentation at the start of June.

“The launch of this yacht today makes us extremely proud and marks the start of a new chapter in the history of Mangusta Open yachts. This is indeed the first model in a new series of vessels, under the name of Mangusta REV” says the Group’s CEO Maurizio Balducci.

The extensive glazing means the interiors and exteriors integrate seamlessly, something that has become a trademark of Mangusta yachts. Naturally there is an abundance of light throughout, from the sophisticated salon area through to the lower deck where four cabins that can accommodate ten guests can be found.

Outside there is a comfortable sunbathing area forward and the sundeck unravels around the radar arch. The aft cockpit door also opens completely to connect the salon to the exteriors and to create a dining area. The 104 REV can also accommodate a 5m (16.4ft) tender and a three-seat jet ski. Twin MTU 16V2000M96L engines give her a top speed of 35 knots and a cruising speed of 25 knots.

The first Mangusta 104 REV has been sold to an American Owner and is set to be delivered by the end of July.
