Overmarine has announced the launch of its second Mangusta GranSport 45, known as Project Amalfi.
The 45m (149ft) fast displacement yacht is set to be delivered to her Owner, an experienced yachtsman, later this year. The Owner was said to be drawn to the yacht for its versatile layout and intends to cruise in the Western Mediterranean, where he will put her shallow draft to use particularly around the Amalfi Coast.
Notable features include a central lounge located on the upper deck that opens up out to the stern and sundeck where a large sunbathing area with Jacuzzi can be found. With the yacht’s tender garage being relocated towards the bow, it means the aft beach club, with two folding side bulwark terraces, expands to a large indoor/outdoor living space right next to the water.
Triple MTU engines give the GranSport 45 a top speed of 26 knots and a range of 4,200nm at a cruising speed of 12 knots.
The first GranSport 45, named MA, was delivered in 2019 and her elegant lines and sophisticated interior marked her out as a favorite in the yachting industry, she took home both an International Yacht and Aviation Award and a World Superyacht Award in 2020. A third hull is also currently being built and set to be delivered in 2022.
Overmarine, the shipyard behind the well-known Mangusta brand, has produced and delivered over 250 yachts in the past 30 years with an average length of 30.7m (101ft), the largest being ‘El Leon’ and SINIAR both of which measured 54m (177ft).
