Italian superyacht builder CRN Yachts has announced it is building Project Maranello, a new 67m (220ft) superyacht with an “eco-friendly soul”.
The Ferretti Group brand will once again be working with Venice-based designers Nuvolari Lenard on the fully bespoke superyacht, that will sport taut, fluid aerodynamic lines.
The eco-friendly Owner has insisted on high levels of sustainability and Project Maranello will feature what CRN is calling a “state-of-the-art hybrid diesel-electric propulsion system”, which will significantly reduce fuel consumption and provide greater energy efficiency.
The new superyacht will be the eighth collaboration in what has been a fruitful partnership between CRN and Nuvolari Lenard. They have previously worked together on yachts such as 55m (180ft) ATLANTE, nominated for eight industry awards, 62m (203ft) VOICE, winner of a World Yachts Trophy last year and 71m (236ft) AZTECA, which picked up four award nominations. They are also working together on the 60m (197ft) CRN M/Y 141 which is currently under construction.
CRN M/Y 141 is one of four custom yachts the yard currently has in the order book, the others being: 62m (203.4ft) CRN M/Y 138, the 72m (236.2ft) CRN M/Y 139, and the 52m (171ft) CRN M/Y 142.
CRN has a well-established reputation for building large, fully-custom steel and aluminium yachts, many of 45m (147ft) and above. It was founded in 1963 and has been responsible for several pioneering yachts, including the 33m (108ft) F100 built in 1983 and widely reckoned to be the world’s first purpose-built explorer yacht. It became part of the Ferretti Group in 1999.
