Nick Stark Design reveals roaring 20s inspired concept

The 24m (78ft) retro-styled yacht is inspired by 1920s commuter boats with flowing, sculpted lines.

Australian design and naval architecture studio Nick Stark Design has taken a step back to the roaring 20s with its latest design concept, a 24m (78ft) retro-styled performance yacht.

The design has been inspired by 1920s New York commuter boats that became popular among the bankers and businessmen needing convenient transport from their stately homes on Long Island to work on Wall Street.

The concept is marked by flowing, sculpted lines, a sleek bow and voluminous aft decks. These aft decks benefit from removable awnings and adjustable louvers to create socializing and relaxation spaces that can be used in all conditions.

The interiors have a generous level of customization and can be configured with a full-beam master suite and lounge or in a more family-oriented layout with individual cabins.

The high-performance concept features a lightweight aluminum hull that has been hydrodynamically optimized and makes use of IPS drives for high-speed cruising.

Nick Stark spent almost 20 years at Silver Yachts as its senior naval architect before opening his own bespoke design studio based in Perth, Australia. Last month it released details of a new 53m (174ft) hybrid-powered superyacht concept.

Whilst this is currently just a concept if you are looking to buy a yacht right now, the best place to start your search is by viewing all new and pre-owned yachts for sale.
