Builder Oceanco and designer Jay Aberdoni have shared further insights into the innovative 80m superyacht concept, STANDBY. This project, forming part of Oceanco's Simply Custom collection, aims to simplify the yacht commissioning process by leveraging a proven naval platform developed by Lateral Naval Architects.
Aberdoni describes the STANDBY motor yacht concept as embodying "stillness" through its sleek exterior lines, emphasizing the importance of simplicity. By eliminating the superfluous, superyacht STANDBY encourages an appreciation for essential experiences, allowing guests to fully immerse themselves in their surroundings.
The yacht's deck layout is designed with geometric precision to enhance views, featuring minimalist terraces and open-air spaces that draw attention to the natural environment.
One of the superyacht's standout features is its bow area, offering a spacious and unobstructed area complete with a helipad at the back and a firepit lounge at the front, sheltered by a Bimini to protect against the wind. Additional highlights include a sundeck pool surrounded by sun loungers, an expansive alfresco dining area on the upper deck, and a side-opening balcony for easy tender access.
The beach club aboard the new superyacht serves as a gym and spa, drawing inspiration from traditional Japanese dojos. This space incorporates Tatami flooring, natural materials, and simple, elegant shapes. Accommodation is thoughtfully arranged across seven cabins, including a luxurious owner's suite, as is standard for Simply Custom designs.
