Westport 125 Yacht

Westport’s 38-metre 125 is a twin-deck superyacht with a raised pilothouse and a flybridge, weighing in at a light ship displacement of 147 tonnes. Fully laden, it tips the scales at 177 tonnes.

Like all Westports, the hull and superstructure are high-quality composite sandwich construction. This model has an air draught of 10.3 metres. Its 1.8-metre (6ft 1in) draught is quite shallow for a yacht of this size, which is a distinct advantage for cruising in shoal waters and accessing shallow anchorages and many smaller harbours, which are out of bounds for deeper-draught vessels.

125 Features

  • Streamlined silhouette
  • Raised pilothouse
  • Separate accommodation for up to six crew
  • Relatively shallow draught

About

Interior

The standard fit-out is in satin-varnished mahogany and pomelle sapele, with beechwood in the crew quarters. The main salon and dining areas can each comfortably entertain at least ten guests. The galley is aft of the owner’s private quarters on the main deck, secluded from guest view and includes a casual breakfast nook or dinette.

There’s a full-beam master suite on the main deck and the 125’s eight-metre beam allows it to be huge. The four double guest cabins are on the lower deck, with queen or twin beds. Some owners convert one of these cabins into a gym or exercise room.

Forward of the guest accommodation, the dedicated crew quarters comprise a mess room, a large cabin for the captain and two smaller double cabins. Every cabin on board has a private heads and shower en suite.

Exterior

Westport have used the extra few metres of length to give the 125 a slightly sleeker and more streamlined silhouette than its two smaller sisters. In addition to the usual fine entry, raked stem and elegantly flared bow, this model has chamfered bow sections rising above the sheerline.

There’s a sun lounger and seating area on the foredeck. At the other end of the yacht, an extending aft platform boosts the size of the beach club/boarding area. Up top, the flybridge has a full-featured open-air command console as well as a sociable seating area.

Performance

The 125 can make 25 knots flat-out with half of its maximum payload, propelled by a pair of MTU 16V2000s that can each produce 2,600hp running at a maximum speed of 2,450rpm.
